Don’t you just love all of the confusing hotel names in Atlanta? It’s kind of like Peachtree Street, which one are you talking about? Regardless, the city has a healthy selection of chain and independent hotels that extend northeast into gorgeous Alpharetta. The neighborhood is coveted for its high end, yet affordable shops, hotels and dining, as well as new urban perks like food truck parks and a fantastic farmers market. There’s a million reasons to visit this extension of the ATL, and these are the places you’ll want to stay.
The Hotel Avalon
Inside the Avalon Shopping Center, The Hotel at Avalon offers boutique vibes in their streamline rooms, creating an absolutely fantastic environment for a weekend shopping getaway. A little southern hospitality has been appropriately woven in, via free sweet tea and a five-star experience at the onsite restaurant, South City Kitchen—not just hotel guests swoon over the masterful fried chicken, greens and potatoes, even locals come solely to dine. And what can really be said about the pool? It’s simply luxurious.
Aloft Alpharetta
Urban modern ambiance and proximity to major landmarks like the Verizon Amphitheater attract those who love just the right amount vibrancy and convenience. Bartenders in the industrial lobby make a delicious strawberry mojito, and the made to order breakfast cups are mouthwatering, and easy to take with you if in a hurry to get to all the attractions. Everything here is clean cut, and so pleasingly refreshing.
Hampton Inn Alpharetta/Roswell
It’s a Hampton Inn, and it’s a solid choice like nearly all Hampton Inns are. It also happens to come in lighter on the wallet. There’s something nice about an occasional stay at a chain hotel—you know what to expect, breakfast is almost always included, and rates are more predictable. The simple pool area surrounded by Georgia foliage is a nice touch. Just sit back, have a craft beer and chill.
Doubletree Hotel Atlanta/Alpharetta-Windward
The modern elegant decor goes great with the overall personality of lovely Alpharetta. Bathrooms are spacious and the beds fluffy as a marshmallow. A shuttle will take you around to all of the attractions like amazing malls, and the onsite restaurant serves a New York Strip and baked potato dinner that’s hard to compete with. Breakfast will cost around $13 and comes with some darn good coffee. Guests love the homey touch of warm cookiesand the fact that Starbucks is within walking distance.
Hampton Inn and Suites Alpharetta
What can we say, Hampton Inn is killing it in Alpharetta, with another establishment that nearly climbs to a five-point rating on TripAdvisor. This location is a little more updated in the common areas, while some classic touches compliment the more basic and expected rooms. You’ll sleep great being a little bit further away from main roads than other lodging options, and the staff goes to the next level ensuring you have a convenient comfy stay. Maybe I’m biased, but any hotel that serves waffles for breakfast already has an edge, because waffles are delicious. Seriously though, breakfast is beyond what you’d expect, with yogurt, berries, oatmeal, ham, bacon, hash browns, eggs, cheese—so many choices.
Hilton Garden Inn North Alpharetta
So husband wants to golf and wife wants to explore all of the shops? No problem, Hilton Garden Inn is close to supreme courses and Avalon shopping center—a free shuttle will take guests to shopping areas. Breakfast is pleasantly more formal, but still in a casual kind of way. Real plates and cutlery, not paper and plastic, are a nice touch that makes the made to order dishes and buffet selections seem more like a part of a lovely day, rather than the same run of the mill quick bite. It’s also quite helpful to the environment.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Alpharetta
Holiday Inn is almost always awesome—it’s pretty safe to say your stay will be clean, comfortable and predictable, which is certainly not a bad thing when it comes to hotels! Averaging around $100 a night, you get access to a modern fitness area and a nice pool area along with signature pancakes and warm gooey cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Seriously, you have to try a cinnamon roll!
Atlanta Marriott Alpharetta
Talk about the perfect mother-daughter getawayor one for any American Girl fan for that matter. There’s an actual store nearby, and Marriott has partnered to offer an ultimate pink experience complete with crowns at check-in, and a very frilly room. Pink sprinkle cookies, indoor and outdoor pools and an extensive breakfast buffet will make youthe Mom or Dad of the year when bringing your young one here. And honestly, we wouldn’t judge if you are contemplating this fun package for yourself. Otherwise, you’re at a Marriott, of course all of the “normal” accommodations are on point.
