The historic Fluor Field in downtown Greenville is home to the Greenville Drive baseball team. The stadium has been designed following the classic design of Fenway Park and Wrigley Field, and accommodates more than 5,000 people.

My family had a great time at today's game. Sweet Caroline's ice cream cones were wonderful and fair priced. On Sunday's kids are allowed to run the bases after the game which my daughter loved. It was very busy and crowded though. Today's game set an attendance record per the announcer.

Beautiful venue to take in a baseball game. Several food options in the stadium and around the stadium. There is always something going on during the game to keep things interesting for fans. The staff, no matter where you are in the stadium, are super helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend visiting. Its not just a baseball field, it's an experience.

Louis A — Google review

Lots of fun, great food, energetic teams and mascot! My family and I had never experienced a baseball game with lights that dance the way this stadium's do to the songs so that was a delightful plus. The seats could be a tiny bit wider but the stairs were easy to use and the seat numbers easy to find. The way the vendors are set up was also convenient and the restrooms nearby and easy to find. The stadium was a bit of a trek to get to.Overall, definitely recommending to friends and family left and right!

Our team went to Fluor Field for an afternoon game as part of a team building offsite. The suite was a little small for the size of our team but was really nice. The food and drink was pretty good. Much better than I had expected, and the lady that was serving us did an awesome job of keeping everything stocked and everyone happy. The game was good and the entertainment between innings was also good.I'd love to do another event like this in the future.Great job by the Greenville Drive and the Fluor Field Teams!

Duayne S — Google review

Really great venue. Meticulously maintained. Obviously good for baseball but also for corporate event, holiday fairs, unique gathering, etc. Right downtown so access is easy and public transportation stops at the gate. Trolleys are clean and free to the public.

Nathan O — Google review

In terms of minor league baseball this is one of the best venues I visited. Highly encourage folks to check out an afternoon game here over the summer - just hope it doesn't rain! There are lots of food options and last time i was there you could order from your seat to have it delivered. This alone was a winning feature. Additionally, there are some cool options for team merchandise to purchase, beer & seltzer to try, and various good seating packages for single or season tickets. If you can "swing" it during your trip to the GVL, I am sure Reedy & the Drive will keep you entertained while you enjoy the trip.

My company rented the roof top box , with food and alcohol for Saturday eve. ! #1 it was my 1st company event and #2 my 1st time at flour field ! Both were great ! The veiw of the ball field from the roof box is spectacular - the view of the surrounding city and mountains is amazing ! It was a great way to spend a few hours on a pretty Saturday evening !

Great atmosphere & clean facilities make this a wonderful ballpark for the Greenville, SC area. I try to make it to at least one of the yearly neutral site games for Clemson University. Outfield center is 420 feet & Boston's famous Green Monster in imitated here in this Red Sox minor league affiliate.

Tyler G — Google review

We love Fluor Field! It's one of the best small town baseball venues we've ever been to! We love the people, the concessions are reasonably priced, the customer service in the box office is great and the foods are decent! They try to make it family friendly in all ways. Bring your family for a game. You won't be disappointed!

Marianne S — Google review

We visited Fluor Field to take in a Greenville Drive baseball game while on a weekend road trip to Greenville. We sat in the "Green Monster" seats in left field, modeled after the Green Monster at Fenway Park in Boston. They were a lot of fun! The lower deck of the Green Monster has bar-type seating, but the upper deck where we sat has small individual tables with four seats clustered around it so that all faced the field. There was plenty of space on the table to place food and drinks, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience of sitting in this special location. The game was entertaining, the restrooms were plentiful and clean, and there were ample concession stands. The game was well attended by enthusiastic fans, and the experience was topped off by a great Friday Night Fireworks show. My son, who has visited many minor league ballparks, said this was his best minor league ballpark experience ever. I agree. Greenville is a wonderful town to visit, and Fluor Field is certainly one of the city's jewels.

Greg S — Google review

Great friendly environment! I really how they have a huge play area for the kids, it keeps them busy and less distraction for the adults that want to watch the game! My son is 19 now and we had blast watching the game! Very clean stadium, good food, I will be back soon!

Baseball is about as American 🇺🇸 as you can get and Fluor Field is an excellent choice to see a good game in downtown Greenville! This field is enjoyed by many, with a fun kid area, shops for your favorite Greenville drive gear to your favorite baseball gear this is a great place to visit and root for your favorite local team!

Just left the Upstate Veterans Celebration. Excellent program including flyover, paratroopers, bands and fireworks to say thank you to our valuable veterans.

Really nice stadium, great food and drink selections, and so fun to watch the team. If you haven't tried it yet, you must!

Jeanne S — Google review

Another amazing time had here! I love this venue. This is one of the best bangs for your buck in the upstate! Their 4th of July show was credible!

Christopher B — Google review

Nice ballpark and they put on a really good show for the ballgame. Fun stuff between innings. Video board was top notch. Only dings were the food being uninspired, sEATz app delivery options were limited, and security to get in needs some bowls or something if they are going to have you empty all of your pockets.

Jeff C — Google review

This ballpark is great! It was very clean and we'll staffed. Crowd control was good. This is a wonderful family friendly and disability friendly setting. They have plenty of stocked, clean bathrooms and tons of reasonably priced food options. Nice serving of chocolate I cream in a souvenir helmet was only $4!Don't forget to read the clear bag policy.I liked that their mascot roams around and that photos with him are free of charge. It's important to be alert when seated behind the netting. Multiple balls managed to get over the safety netting and into the fan sections. It was honestly nerve wracking, bc the net only catches some of the tipped balls. Fans ultimately DO have a responsibility to pay attention!!Both teams tonight had some awesome diving catches! It was a lot of fun to watch! My group had an overall great game experience and I'd enjoy returning.Parking tip: behind the $10 pay lot there's an apartment building with a parking garage that offers public parking. It's PERFECT and basically right across the street from the entrance. I only had to pay $5.00.

Holly M — Google review

So it was mother's day today and me my wife and kids had very good tickets for the game. After we walked a half mile to the stadium from the restaurant we went to, we finally arrived to have a great mother's day game. When we got to the gate we saw the clear bag policy and unfortunately she had a backpack purse. Almost immediately the guy says that we can't enter due to the policy. I asked is there any lockers or any place we can check the bag so we can enter and the response was " no you can't enter". Are you serious, on mother's day. There obviously was a solution with the clear bags in the gift shop but that wasn't even thought about by the staff. So we just ate 75 dollars in tickets because of a clear bag policy that could have been resolved by just buying one in the gift shop. This whole experience ruined my wife's mother's day because she was excited to go and that was taken away. Thanks for coming up with a solution for this policy.

Always a great night at the Drive Game! We love our annual client appreciation event and always have the best time!

Erica S — Google review

What a fun night out! Great little baseball stadium with plenty of seats, all with great views of the field and a play area for the kiddos! Lots of food options and drinks, tickets are very reasonable and on Friday nights they have fireworks. If you bring a pocketbook it must be under 8 inches wide and they will search your bag or you can bring a clear bag so they can see in it. There is a cute gift shop that sells all the Drive Team sports memorabilia. It's right in the heart of downtown Greenville in Main street surrounded by great restaurants, bars and Falls Park on the Reedy. Highly recommend!

Lynn M — Google review

What a great minor league ballpark! Beautiful field based on their major league team park, Fenway Park.

Falls Park on the Reedy is a gorgeous and peaceful urban park that is easily accessible for exploration. The park is home to gardens, walking trails, waterfalls, and art installations that make it a great place to spend a relaxing day. Passerelle Bistro in the park afterward is a fantastic French restaurant that should not be missed if you're looking for some great food and amazing views.

Absolutely gorgeous park that brings the city together as it shows the harmonious symbioticness between the river falls and skyscrapers. The extensive walking path purposely weaves everyone through the landscape with great views of the waterfall. The Liberty Bridge politely calls attention to its engineering marvel. What a great place to spend an afternoon people watching and soaking up the city vibe. Also a great place to take the pets!

Jessica S — Google review

Serenity found. We enjoyed an early midweek stroll and had this gorgeous place pretty much to ourselves. We had researched articles and short video history on this area so it made our visit that more interesting. History is fascinating on this area! Gorgeous and all FREE. Also public restrooms were available too.

Michelle H — Google review

This place is absolutely beautiful. Greenville has hands down the best looking downtown area I have been to date. There are several different walking areas and benches so you can view this waterfall. We sat on one of the benches near the bottom and sat there watching the falls for about 45 minutes as the sun was setting it was a sight worth seeing. I also recommend walking across the suspension bridge, and taking in the view from there. Will 100 percent come back to this place in the future.

Jake Y — Google review

What a beautiful and thoughtful place. We visited in the morning - the air was crisp, the water was flowing, and there were just a few people. We can't wait to come back and relax on a swinging bench and take in more of the area. We parked downtown and took advantage of the free 2-hour street parking - it was about a half mile walk. Just gorgeous!

Rachel L — Google review

Falls park is unlike any other place in our country. It's beauty is supported by the eclectic nature of its city surroundings. Amenities aplenty including restrooms, eateries, many shops, galleries, picnicking areas, and walking paths. Dog friendly, the park is a playground of exploration for both children and fun seeking adults alike. The park IS the destination for those people in search of wonder and relaxation.

D.J. H — Google review

In the middle of the city, this is a beautiful gem with paved paths and beautiful fall views. There is no free or public parking available nearby, so you need to park in a parking garage nearby. It may seem like a small spot, but there are many paths you can take that takes you to beautiful spots where you can sit relax and enjoy.Paths are a bit uneven, and there are stairs, so wear appropriate shoes.

Abeer M — Google review

The most amazingly and beautiful park in any city ever. Make sure to explore around and look for the secret staircase in the photos. Hint, you may have to cross the falls to find it. The suspended bridge is just incredible with views and energy. Plan to spend a good half day enjoying this park and walk along all the trails.

David C — Google review

Busy on a Saturday afternoon we found one parking space four blocks away. As we got closer there was a wonderful floral scent that grew stronger as we got closer to the park. Lots of restaurants and shops line the street leading to the park.Beautiful falls and walkway gardens surrounding the park.A three bathroom stall ( very tiny for the highly popular spot) is found through a outdoor patio.A very clean, safe and family friendly spot! Highly recommended!

I will never forget the feeling of AWE the first time I saw Reedy Falls in the heart of Greenville! Magnificent, beautiful and breathtaking! The best view is from the pedestrian bridge and it also takes you to the other side of the river!Greenville would not be such a spectacular place without the falls. We love and treasure our downtown park!

This place is so beautiful. My family was absolutely amazed to experience the falls in the middle of downtown. We took a few trails( woody, narrow stairs, bugs) that led to one exploration after another(Spill the Beans coffee has great ice cream. The Grand Bohemian very picturesque, and Gather has a ton of food options in a covered outdoor fun atmosphere) The Falls Park is really cool. You definitely need walking shoes!

Visited during the holiday season.. streets filled with lights and a festive atmosphere. There were Christmas decorations, live music and popup stalls selling trinkets and gift items. The highlight was the picture with Santa for free!As this park was right in the middle of the city, there were all sorts of stores for shopping, restaurants and coffee shops.Plenty of street parking and garage options.

The hidden gem in the heart of Greenville, Falls Park on the Reedy is everything a park should be.We entered the park by way of Pedrick Garden at Falls Park, walked over a small bridge and down a side road to the park. We were able to get a great view of Liberty Bridge and could hear the falls.Surrounded by restaurants, cafes and hotels all within walking distance, Falls Park boasts lush greenery lined paved walkways with benches and swings to sit, relax and enjoy the views and sounds of the falls. There are large open green spaces available for kids to play, families to picnic and relax and pets to roam. The park was busy on the Saturday we visited, yet it did not feel crowded. There was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the area.A true gem for nature lovers!Take a stroll across Liberty Bridge to get the most expansive view of Reedy River Falls. Enjoy listening to the flow of water, natural white noise. From the bridge you will be able to see adults, kids, and dogs on the rocks below enjoying the shallow areas of the falls. We were not able to fully explore the area to our liking due to our time constraints. So we look forward to returning for a long weekend to explore this amazing park, the Greenville downtown and the surrounding areas soon.

We had a wonderful day. The falls were easy to see from many directions. I have issues with walking. Many of the paths were very accommodating. I was a little nervous about the bridge. It gave another great view.

Falls Park is a beautiful place to visit in downtown Greenville. I recommend if you have the ability to; to take a journey out across the rocks and get to a place I like to call “Falcons Cove” . In the last picture I took I am on top of the rock I like to call “Falcon’s Cove” . Maybe you’ll see why if you venture to the rock. Be safe, have fun. Love, Just!

Beautiful city park with lots of walking paths and several waterfalls, not just the big one. The bridge over the falls is perfect - what a good idea by the city whenever they did that! Lots of great places to eat - Spill the Beans coffee, Passerelle French bistro, Carmella's dessert cafe, and the restaurant and bar at the huge Grand Bohemian. Feel free to walk inside and sit on the terrace overlooking the falls!

Sara W — Google review

It's a nice walk for you and your partner. Or for you and your friends, walking over liberty Bridge and then down into Falls Park is both scenically beautiful but also just fun. There's usually someone playing music on the stone bridge. Or swings to watch the waterfall.*pictures from several different occasions*

Zoo

The Greenville Zoo is a small, no-frills zoo that offers visitors a chance to learn about local and exotic wildlife. The zoo has a variety of walking paths, playgrounds, courts, and more to make it a great place for the whole family to enjoy.

We visited on Friday 4/8/2022 - We arrived at the Zoo around 10:30 am. I did not have to wait long to purchase my ticket even though there was a small line. My daughter and I spent a good hour - hour & half, venturing around the open exhibits. Our favorite was the giraffes ! 🦒🦒🦒 The "baby" one kept running around between the adults, it was so cute! The Ocelot was super cute! The Leopard was GORGEOUS 🖤 Some animals were not present & some things were being built, so there is some construction - That just means more animals are coming , so let's be patient while we wait! 🤍 Several different playgrounds on site. Gift shop is reasonably priced as well. We didn't not purchase any food or drinks. There was a shaved ice truck also out front when we left. It was a nice thing to enjoy with my child on a Friday ! ✨️🙌🤍 They do hold special dates & seasonal events. Membership & group rates are available per request! Check out their website before heading out. I recommend the Greenville Zoo to locals & those passing through ! 🦒🦎🐸🐺🐒🐼🐆🤍✨️

Ashley H — Google review

We visited the Greenville Zoo for the first time and really enjoyed it. The park was very clean and the gift shop had a lot of neat things. We’ll definitely be back to see the animals again!

Lindsey A — Google review

Perfect sized zoo to take a stroll with the kiddos! Not too small and not too big. Great variety of exotic animals for everyone to enjoy. Would absolutely recommend if you were staying near the area and were looking for a good past time. Fairly priced as well.Includes a little gift shop and small store to buy refreshments and snacks.

Dan — Google review

A beautiful experience, with well cared for animals and clean atmosphere. Even with the little bit of renovating going on, the animals were quite relaxed and seemed happy. The kids had a blast! A great little seating area for snacks, and a large park for the little ones to let off some energy. Stay until near closing and you can get some interactions with the cats as they await dinnertime.

Amy J — Google review

As someone who has frequented bigger zoos in the past, I think this zoo is quality for the price of entry and the size of the space available. Some of the enclosures need to be updated and the exhibit descriptions are better for children than adults. There doesn’t seem to be much in the way of engaging enrichment for the animals since many of them were facing the back of their enclosures (the keeper side) clearly waiting to be fed. I think there are certainly better zoos in the southeast, but again, I think this one is on par for what you pay.

Zack W — Google review

It was okay for a small zoo. We enjoyed seeing the leopard and orangutans the most. My grandson was thrilled because he loves animals and those were two he had not seen before. There were also lions which he always enjoys. Only one small snack bar is offered. It only takes about an hour to traverse the whole zoo so we were able to see all his favorites two or three times.

Peggy S — Google review

Small but fun zoo great family fun. There are lots of different animals for their size. Worth the trip if you have small kids and are trying to entertain them for a while.

Jermaine W — Google review

Greenville Zoo is small but kept nice and clean. They have many different animals, my favorites were red pandas and baby orangutan and the leopard. Unfortunately it was a cold day so giraffes were inside and we didn’t see any, same with lions. But that means we will have to be back.

Olga S — Google review

In full complete honestly this was the most well kept zoo I have ever visited. Every single exhibit had an animal. Normally when you go to zoos some animals will be gone for the winter or not in some of the cages or displays but every animal they said they had they in fact did. They were so cute and this zoo was so fun! I have been to A LOT of zoos where the animals are in poor living conditions and not fed well and look miserable and that was NOT the case at this zoo. This was the happiest zoo I’ve ever been to. The animals were literally coming up to the glass to greet us and say hello. I even told my boyfriend I was convinced they were trying to show off for us or wanted us to be happy. They all had large cages and I saw lots of food in the exhibits. Normally when I go to zoos I feel indifferent after seeing the animals but this zoo was so lovey. I would definitely come back here again. We looked at the food menu and the food was inexpensive and had a large selection. We were visiting from out of state and had a flight in a few hours and the front staff was kind enough to watch our bag for us as well.

Lexi C — Google review

I love all the improvements to the Zoo. Our granddaughter had such a wonderful time. She was literally squealing with delight at all the different animals. All the animals and their enclosures were clean and healthy. The reptile exhibit was outstanding! The staff was friendly, especially the lady in the gift shop. Keep up the excellent work!

bumblegirl — Google review

Wonderful zoo! Well designed and small enough for kids to walk around comfortably but plenty to see! Took us around an hour to walk though the whole park. My kids really enjoyed seeing the alligator, giraffes, lions, and monkeys. There's also a nice park right next to the zoo.

Rocky B — Google review

Very cute little zoo. Took only about 2hrs of pittling though. There wasn't much but the few they had were cool. Expected bigger and the gift shop they have wasn't stocked and bare. Could have been better but was a good little detour. Been to the Detroit Zoo in Michigan and that's an all day thing! Which I expected but it's ok.

Jhenna S — Google review

It's small but cute. Perfect to go to & just walk around for an hour or so... Price is fair, too. Go early or on cooler days, as with any place with animals, you won't see much movement from them when it's really hot outside. The baby giraffe is adorable!

Tatiana M — Google review

Unexpectedly great zoo! For a zoo on the smaller side, it was great! The animals are situated in a way where they are easily visible and the setting is very natural. The zoo is easily walkable with small kids and all the animals were out! We even saw a lion roar!

Pia L — Google review

We got free tickets and went here over Memorial weekend... it was sprinkling, so they weren't busy at all. It's a small zoo and doesn't take long to walk the whole thing. The gardens are beautiful and well taken care of and so are the animals. We always enjoy the giraffes, lions and monkeys, but this time they had some sort of lizzard. He loves people they said, and he followed my grandson all over near the window. It made his day! It was our 2nd time visiting this zoo and we will definitely be back.

Lori K — Google review

A great small zoo with a really nice reptile house. Some different animals than Riverbanks or Atlanta have. Tickets are $11 for adults and $8 for kids.

Beth M — Google review

Small zoo but very nice. Not too many animals, several different kinds of monkeys, lions, giraffe, leopard, birds, flamingos. Cost was $14 for an adult. Very clean and well kept. Easy parking.

Debra C — Google review

Always a good time here. Small enough for little ones but still has exotic animals. Not to mention Cleveland park and the swamp rabbit trail right in the front yard. Tickets are fairly priced but the gift shop is pricey - still the money goes to the zoo so it’s not hard to spend anyway. Not to mention, downtown Greenville is right around the corner.

Hanna I — Google review

It's a small zoo but well done - most areas look new, even the sections being remodeled! So while it doesn't have a lot of space, it seems that it's got some good donors. The animals look reasonably happy and relaxed and they even have a big African lion, giraffes, and a leopard. The red pandas are super cute and active, some bat-eared foxes are super cute, and there are several birds of prey and a reptile house.I was mainly there to take a walk on a pretty day, and it only takes about 30 minutes to do a completely circuit, pausing to look at most of the animals. I did another lap in reverse, which rewarded me with different views of some animals. It is on a hill, so you are walking (and possibly pushing a stroller) up and down some decent hills. I recommend heading uphill first, then winding your way down and around to the alligator and farm animals.

Sara W — Google review

Our family loves the zoo. It's a great zoo, not too big and we've never been when it's crowded. We get family passes every year. Everyone there is so friendly and easy to talk to. I've never had any issues with cleanliness in the bathrooms and the playground that's in the front of the zoo is great. The playground has different sections. Ones for 5 and under and the other is 5-12.

Angela N — Google review

We were doing recon for a family picnic. While we didn't visit the zoo, the covered picnic areas were large enough which were located across from the zoo entrance. The nearby bathroom was a plus as well.

Jo-C C — Google review

We love the Greenville Zoo!! Beautiful location nestled in the hills, with a lot of trees for shade. Big enough but not too big and very well put together. There's even a small kids park mid-way through to stop and get some energy out. Great picnic area and additional larger park right outside the Zoo. We can definitely spend 1-2 hours here on a nice day.

Jade L — Google review

Cool little zoo. Not as big as some of the there’s we have seen, but a nice place to spend the morning around Greenville. Great addition to the surrounding park area. Definitely will be back again.

Brian G — Google review

Such a great place to visit for a couple of hours. Smaller than the Atlanta zoo, but also a fraction of the cost and crowds! We always have a blast!

Courtney G — Google review

Loved this little zoo! The animals were so active, except the big cats who were snoozing! Really nice place, easy to navigate, handicap accessible and enclosures are close up and easy to see the animals and activity!

Caitlin R — Google review

Really cute local zoo if you don’t feel like fighting to crowds at Riverbanks. They are putting in a lot of work to make it even nicer over this next year. I can’t wait to see everything when it’s all done.

Ali M — Google review

Nice zoo outing. There is a preschool playground inside the zoo and 2 large playgrounds outside the zoo. Parking is free.

Eve D — Google review

We picked the wrong day to visit! We arrived to find 8 elementary schools (and their parents) on a field trip. Very crowded. We couldn’t even go to the playground, not a square foot of area available. Also, why are the flamingos standing in dirty, muddy water? Hadn’t rained in days. The glass to view the alligator is soo nasty. Please clean!

What a fun, little zoo! Just perfect for young children and adults alike. Loved all the play areas and I’m excited to bring my family back here to visit and play. It was a rainy day when we spent time at the zoo, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Well maintained.

Maggie S — Google review

The Greenville Zoo is small, but don't let that dissuade you! This place is a real gem! They have a large variety of animals, and everything is nice and clean!

Caleb E — Google review

Very cute and clean little Zoo. It's not super big but the Price Is Right especially when you're bringing the whole family. The kids really enjoyed all the animals there and so did my husband and I. We tried to go every time we are in Greenville

The Peace Center Concert Hall is a large contemporary concert hall in downtown Greenville that regularly hosts major musical and dramatic presentations. The center has a combined seating capacity of over four thousand people, making it one of the larger performing arts venues in the area. The Greenville Symphony Orchestra and ballet company are both based at the Peace Center, making regular appearances throughout the year with both classical and contemporary works.

Went to see Earth, Wind & Fire last night and we thoroughly enjoyed the show even from the balcony. We could see and hear just fine. What a great show and venue.

Robert S — Google review

Loved watching Betelgeuse The Musical with my family! The bathrooms were very clean, the staff were extremely friendly and skilled in their jobs, and there was plenty of seating for the most amount of people to fit without anything being cramped. They had bars and bathrooms everywhere and the lines were relatively short and quick. Very nice place would love to go to another event here.

Lilly D — Google review

A gorgeous theatre! Very clean, great seating, and a very friendly staff. I love that Genevieve's is attached to the theatre. Enjoying dinner and simply walking through the door and into the theatre was so convenient and having desserts and coffee during intermission was awesome! We saw CATS and we will be back for another show.

Michelle W — Google review

We sat in the very last row (K) of the balcony and still enjoyed the performance of Wicked. I highly recommend binoculars if you’re sitting in the balcony to see the faces, but the sound is great and I still felt involved in the show even in Row K balcony, middle seats. Fabulous venue!

Steph M — Google review

Attended Lukas &POTR recently. Fantastic staff, ticket window, and concert staff! Such reasonable prices on all drinks and beer. Security was SO kind, and the stage access and visibility were really great. I hope there is another event that I would want to see plays there.

Tye B — Google review

Outstanding acoustics, comfortable box seats, and attentive staff. There's a bar for co*cktails prior to the show. This venue has an intimate atmosphere coupled with sophisticated technology, which makes for a perfect experience, at least it was for us, despite the rainy night. (Just remember that you can't bring beverages into the hall.)

Rebecca A — Google review

What a fabulous venue, nice bars inside, not as pricey as some concert venues and very comfortable seating. The staff was friendly and helpful. Saw Weird Al concert, really enjoyed the show.

Charles S — Google review

Love the Peace Center! We have Broadway season tickets and absolutely love it. They bring in such a good variety of shoes. From Broadway to comedians to orchestras there are so many things you can see.The restrooms are nice and there are some on every floor. The people who work there are so polite. If you ever have to call customer service expect it to be the most pleasant call of your life. All in all this is one of my favorite places in Greenville.

Kristen K — Google review

I just recently went to the peace center for the first time with my godmother. I was blown away by their production of wicked. The atmosphere was amazing. There’s not a bad seat in the house. The staff is wonderful. There was great parking across the street that was $20. This was a wonderful birthday gift. I highly recommend it as a special occasion event.

Gerry-Ann B — Google review

We've seen a few shows here over the years. It's a lovely venue, but as with everything in Downtown Greenville, the parking is a pain. The venue is clean and always staffed by friendly persons. We sat in the tippity top this time for the show. There really isn't a bad seat in the house.

Shelaine — Google review

First time visiting! Went to see Earth, Wind, and Fire!! Amazing Performance. The venue is nice and the sound quality is Great! I would definitely come back to see a performance here!

Victoria C — Google review

Saw my first concert since moving to the Greenville area. I was not disappointed. The seats were excellent and the venue is intimate unlike a huge stadium. Genevieve’s was great for the pre concert eats and dessert during intermission. I love the venue and will definitely be going back.

Erik A — Google review

This theater is gorgeous!! The seats are extremely comfortable. I chose not to leave during intermission and sat for 3 hours without any discomfort. The acoustics are great. The staff was super kind. There are side entrances so don't get stuck in the long line through the main door.

Heather R — Google review

Amazing concert hall. Food was horrible as there was nothing but nuts to snack on and mostly alcohol drinks. So bring a purse big enough for drinks and snacks. Or eat a good meal before you go.

Trinity I — Google review

Beautiful, clean facility. Parking wasn’t so easy but the walk to the concert hall was short. Great atmosphere for all different types of people and walks of life

Magee L — Google review

An extraordinary venue to experience a concert. We attended a concert at the Gunter theater within the Peace Center. It was an intimate setting (seating about 430).The venue was clean and well attended. The downtown Greenville setting allowed for a fun and convenient location to relax both before and after the event.Overall, a fantastic experience.

Kevin C — Google review

We came here to see Neil deGrasse Tyson. We parked in the lot across the street. $25 to park is pretty expensive but we didn't want to try to find another spot. We walked to Sobey's for dinner. Delicious! Lots of dining options near the Peace Center. We walked back and went straight into the venue. Went through the metal detector and had our e-tickets scanned. No problem. We had the absolute cheapest seats in the place. Tickets for live performances are getting outrageously expensive. We walked up all the steps to our seats. Even though we were far up, we could still see everything and the sound system made hearing the talk very easy. This place is always clean and the staff is very nice. There are several beverage stations so you don't all have to stand in one long line. Even the line for the ladies room was manageable. We enjoy coming to the Peace Center and will likely be back.

Shelly K — Google review

Saw Girl From the North Country here on an anniversary weekend. Beautiful venue, comfy seats. It was a little chilly in the hall, but it was February. Helpful, friendly staff.

Maggie S — Google review

Drove over 4 hours to come and see the Celtic Woman and it was totally worth it! Even tho we had far up seats, the sound and view of the stage were incredible! The orchestra sounded amazing and over all it was totally worth the drive!Oh and the hanging angel they have in the entrance is just an art masterpiece!!! So elegant and beautiful!

Lizeth P — Google review

Very impressive facility, a world-class concert hall. Great acoustics, very nice staff, cool part of Greenville. Well worth return visits!

Bruce W — Google review

We saw Croce last weekend and everything was great! The venue is spectacular and we can't wait to go back! We actually bought tickets at the box office for another show! Good sight lines and the Peace Center seems like it is just the right size.

Michael S — Google review

Wonderful production of "The Wiz." Comfortable seats in the performance chamber and excellent sound quality. Front of house staff (security, ticket scanners, greeters, and ushers) could stand to be given some refresher training in smiling 😃 and customer service - kind of off-putting lack of friendliness makes this first-time visitor wonder if this is the norm for the venue.

David B — Google review

Love this place! We drove down from NC and the venue is well worth it. We always eat nearby first, then enter when the doors open. This time we saw the Indigo Girls and it was a blast! The crowd sang, yelled and clapped to all the songs…what a fun and happy crowd. We were in row D of the Founder’s balcony area and could see just fine. May want to use the facilities at intermission…otherwise there is a long line in all the restrooms for women. 👎🏼 We will be back in November and can’t wait!

The BMW Zentrum is a museum and information center that showcases vintage cars, motorcycles, concept automobiles, and more. Visitors can take a factory tour to observe the impressive machinery used in production. The tour involves some walking but includes frequent stops for detailed explanations by the guide. The atrium at the entrance features several cars on display, and there is also a gift shop available for purchasing BMW merchandise. It's important to note that strict policies and procedures are enforced during the tour.

We took the factory tour which was very interesting. There is some walking involved but you stop often for detailed explanations by the guide so you're not walking continuously if that's a concern. The atrium at the entrance is very nice with a bunch of cars on display. There's also a gift shop for your BMW swag.Overall excellent experience, I highly recommend.

Dan L — Google review

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!Having worked in factories earlier in life I wasn’t overly surprised by what I saw but I can’t say the experience wasn’t excellent! Doing the plant tour (can’t have phone on so no pictures) was really sweet to see and they make it a fun and enjoyable experience. The tour guide was knowledgeable and fun.The factory is clean and really advanced. It was a rainy day on our trip and this was the perfect indoor activity.Even getting a commemorative magnet when you finish the tour! They even had some amazing historic BMWs, including the first one driven by 007!The museum is cool, the tour is where it’s at!

Colbe W — Google review

What a great experience, not too big and well managed. The factory tour was the highlight. Our guide, Faye, was outstanding! Many of the cars in the Zentrum brought back fond memories for us. I highly recommend this stop if you plan ahead and reserve your tour.

Tony C — Google review

Definitely take the tour! The factory is incredible and the machinery they use is awesome to watch. Keep in mind they're fairly strict with policies and procedures during the tour. It's fun, but they do have to keep things moderated.

Brandon O — Google review

Absolutely top notch experience, but could you really expect any less from BMW? Everything about the tour was well worth it. I can’t wait to order and get my vehicle delivered right off the assembly line.

Eddie R — Google review

WOW! Awesome tour courtesy of BMW. Your is 1.5 hours viewing the production facility and visitor center. After the tour of the production facility I was speechless, it truly amazing seeing BMW luxury cars assembled in person. Tour was only $15 well worth it! FYI no open toe shoes and no cell phones allowed during the production factory tour.

M M — Google review

Enthusiasts of BMW will find great pleasure in visiting this museum, which houses both classic and contemporary models, making it a destination of significance, albeit its compact size. The fact that the museum's admission is complimentary, coupled with its convenient proximity to the highway, facilitates the exploration experience.Furthermore, the inclusion of the M Driving School, factory tours, and other activities contributes to creating an appealing environment for automobile aficionados.

Osman G — Google review

Beautiful grounds. Fun little museum that you can get up close to the vehicles and not a ton of vehicles, so you can see them all. The factory tour was nice and informative. The only option for factory tour tickets is online.

Brian D — Google review

We visited the Zentrum as part of the paid 45-minute tour. The tour is a must-do if you've never been. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming with a lot of knowledge. Such interesting stories and history.

Rachel L — Google review

The museum itself is small but the cars in it are in incredible condition. The best part is the factory tour that starts from the museum. I did the 1-hout tour and it was really incredible. Definitely worth the entry! You usually need to get tickets for the tours ahead of time though!

Johnathan B — Google review

Woof what a wunderbar welcome center open to the public during weekdays but we were in the area and wanted to check it out.Its got a lot of history for Bmurr loving pups like us and makes for a fun and unique pit stop.

Pup P — Google review

Beautiful museum showcasing some of the finest Bavarian cars made. It's free to attend Monday through Friday. I had some sticker shock in the gift shop but otherwise this is a fantastic collection of cars. Some of which I'd only ever seen in magazines or video games.

Peter H — Google review

I'd recommend going for the factory tour if you schedule it well enough in advance because it really does let you see the behind the scenes of how they make many BMW SUVs. As far as the Zentrum museum (Zentrum meaning center), really cool way to see some classic as well as some brand new BMWs and really get a good sense of the history of BMWs being built in the United States

Jeffin K — Google review

I visited on 3/6/24. Our tour guide was wonderful. She was very knowledgable and was able to answer all of my questions. The tour did not seem rushed and we were able to see many facets of vehicle assembly (excl drivetrain, mechanicals, interior), especially fit and finish. The museum was compact, but comprehensive. I wish they had some additional motorcycles on display; there were only four and I hoped the display would include adventure bikes. Maybe they didn't feature more because they aren't produced there? (Hey, BMW, they don't take up a lot of room!)The biggest miss was the gift shop. I wouldn't be so harsh had I not previously toured the Munich plant (Sept. 2016) and experienced that store. Munich's store was nothing short of phenomenal. Reasonally priced, custom-made goods, with European flair and design. I previously purchased a black "BMW Welt" women's fitted v-neck t-shirt with cool, unusual graphics and made with thick cotton, a "BMW Welt" rollerball pen, a blue "BMW Motorrad Motorsport" women's fitted v-neck t-shirt (again, thick cotton with white and red sleeves and a BMW logo appliquéd patch, a silkscreened image on the other sleeve and "BMW Motorrad Motorsport" larger and written down the back, on the reverse). What the Greer, SC facility did have was two light pink women's shirts that I wouldn't be caught dead wearing (one was a polo shirt).I saw nothing with "BMW Zentrum" on it. Instead what I found was typical American apparel with overinflated prices. I was interested in purchasing items for my three young grandchildren. There was nothing I could find to purchase for them! Two boys and a girl, ages 7, 4, and 2! My son always asks me to purchase books from where I visit for them. I purchased "Greenville, SC" books for them at O.P. Taylor's Toy Store in DT Greenville.I also wanted to purchase a book about the facility. There were no books, postcards, coloring books, children's books, or any reading material for that matter! During my visit I walked through the store three times to make sure there wasn't anything I missed. Nope. This facility has been open for 20 years! What gives? The gentleman working behind the counter in the Isetta Cafe made a perfect, European cappuccino! Bravo.

Karen B — Google review

Had a friend visiting and we decided to go to the 1 hour tour at the BMW Zentrum. Before and after the tour you can browse around the museum and take a look at a few BMW models. From the very first produced BMW, to the 1 Millionth produced BMW, to the newest X model. The museum also includes a nice little gift shop. The tour was great and gave us some insights of their production, assembly and painting line. Each touring group has a max of 11 people and we had to walk in a single file line. In order for all of us to hear the tour guide, we all got a headset with adjustable volume. I would have preferred actual headphones instead of the doctor like telescope type but it was okay. Everyone got safety glasses as well.

Jessica D — Google review

My husband and I visited BMW Zentrum museum 10 years ago, now I came back myself. Enjoyed a one hour “ glimpse “ tour to see plant processes. Nice to see robots working on the field. If you like to see how a car rear hatch, doors, and hood attached to the vehicle by high-precision robots and more, book online ahead. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it too. Thanks again!

Emily C — Google review

Always enjoy seeing legacy cars and new model cars on display. Videos give glimpses of the production process with just-in-time arrival of components, how robotics assist with heavy lifting during assembly.

Cel S — Google review

Nice museum of BMW cars. Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to take a tour of the plant, but I hear it’s outstanding.

Tom C — Google review

Had an amazing time getting to see the sheer size of this facility, How organized everything is, clean and super efficient every thing runs. Seeing behind the scenes help solidify why BMW is the ultimate driving machine. The tour staff was very enjoyable Faye was our guide and remarkably knowledgeable. Thank you for this memorable experience!

Nathan H — Google review

It is amazing place with a stunning beautiful, shining cars, gift shope and cafe. There is a James Bond's 007 car over there, bmw bikes and 1st manufactured car of this plant with 700 signatures of emploees, who participated in assembling this car. I was impressed.

The Hatcher Garden and Woodland Preserve is a tranquil public garden adorned with mature trees, conifers, butterflies, and a scenic walking trail. The park management has recently made significant improvements to the garden by adding new features and revamping its appearance. This has made it an ideal destination for nature lovers seeking to experience the beauty of wildlife in their natural habitat. Visitors can spot turtles, small fish and other fauna while taking a relaxing walk amongst the lush greenery of the gardens.

Been here before several times but I just recently moved back to the area after being gone for almost 6 years. Went back today after being gone for so long and the people that run the Gardens have really done a fabulous job at cleaning up the park and adding new additions to the Gardens. Had a wonderful walk and got to see some turtles, small fish, and other wildlife in their natural habitat. I would recommend this place if you want to get out of the house for a bit and smell the flowers.

This is a beautiful and well maintained garden. It has tons of shaded pathways and picnic areas. Perfect place to walk in the summer. It is super clean with no trash spotted anywhere in the garden. It has a great variety of shrubs, trees, flowers, birds, and other wildlife. It is a joy to wander through its many paths to find the little areas to stop and appreciate the grounds around you.

Peter M — Google review

Gorgeous garden found in the area!!! Walkways are clean and nice! Beautiful bridges and pond with Koi fish. Tropical trees and flowers and unexpected tropical snake which is non aggressive at all Piton. God I love this garden ❤️

Ivan S — Google review

Love this beautiful place!! Very well maintained, just read all the other great reviews! Easily one of the prettiest scenic spots in the Burg. They sell plants on the weekends, the picnic tables are made of recycled milk cartons, there is a Little Library, there are all types of streams and ponds. I will say, a few are dried up at the moment, but it doesn’t take away from the beauty of the garden. There’s plenty of perfect picnic spots, too!

Georgia R — Google review

This place was so beautiful and peaceful! We saw lots of beautiful plants, flowers of all colors, plus turtles, coy fish, spiders, dragonflies, bees, and various other cool bugs. Lots of beautiful waterscapes. Easy trails for all ages and abilities. A beautiful bridge with a waterfall that has a rainbow if you catch the sunlight in the right place. Benches available for resting and enjoying nature.

Alison W — Google review

Beautiful stonework, ponds and waterfalls in addition to native plants, trees and flowers throughout. Lots of benches and shade - a plethora of perfect and relaxing places to sit and read or just be alone with your thoughts. A real treasure.

Edward L — Google review

This garden is a very special place. I love to come out here for the peace and quiet that it offers. The beautiful nature and the sound of the birds make the perfect setting for some meditation, reading a book, or simply taking a walk. The park is filled with a big variety of trees and flowers as well as many species of birds (many birdfeeders to birdwatch). If you love nature and tranquility, then this garden is for you.

I have lived in Spartanburg County for 6 years, and have never been to this beautiful place. Amazing, breathtaking, wowing, gorgeous, and bountiful is just a few words to sum up how awesome of a time that I and my husband had today. Nature walking, picture taking, enjoyment of nature and its beauty was all of that and then some today. I'm not one for the nature, or outdoor experiences, but I must say this is something that I will do again. It truly was a sight to see. I've added some photos of our fun packed experience.

Nydajah H — Google review

Beautiful little garden. The kids love to stop when we're going through town. It takes about an hour or so to walk through the entire thing. The flowers, when they are bloomed, are absolutely stunning and it is kept up very nice

These botanical gardens were beautiful, well maintained and peaceful. It was nice to see wildlife there too. Highly recommend going there.

This is a really nice garden to walk through! Even in winter it is still beautiful and lush. There are plenty of places to stop for a rest if needed, and to just admire the surroundings. There are plaques around the paths that give information on plants, animals, the ecosystem and more. They also sell plants there too, done on a good-faith practice which I love.

Aria M — Google review

Beautiful area! Great location if you're looking somewhere easy to walk some basic trails and see some great landscaping and nature. It is well-maintained then as I was passing through there were other people there that were using it for a birthday party or just enjoying a relaxing day with the nice weather.

Hatcher Garden is a beautiful place for a walk, relax, just sit and enjoy nature. A great place to take the kiddos when they are too hyped up. The walking will tire them fast! The flowers are gorgeous, and the water fall is very pretty. There are turtles that excite the children, and it's shaded.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Laura C — Google review

Serene, beautiful, meticulously kept. If there was a hammock, I'd take me a nap and just enjoy the aroma, the gentle breeze, slight sounds of squirrels and waterfalls everywhere.. VERY NICE place to visit. We HIGHLY recommend this place. We took about an hour to slowly walk the mile of trails. OMG, there is actually a money plant.. who knew? I think we saw a cannabis plant. NOT SURE.... LOL.. I did take a picture of what I presumed was.. Let me know in a comment if I'm mistaken.

DreamRider — Google review

Absolutely beautiful botanical walk 💛 I could spend all day here just existing and be completely content. You can tell they take pride in this garden, the love and care are evident around every bend. Definitely going to become a go to when I desire some peace and meditation. And the origin story is just as beautiful as the park is! 10/10 would recommend stopping by, whether you have 30 minutes or 3 hours, it's worth it. The park is free but there are donation boxes on site, they use the donations to take care of the park, even if you can only spare $1 it is a worthwhile donation 💛

Brewery

Food & Drink

RJ Rockers Brewing Company & Restaurant boasts an extensive range of microbrew options and offers tasting tours from Thursday to Saturday, as well as frequent live music shows. It is a dog-friendly establishment with a designated area for furry friends. Their Deli Korner menu is fantastic and pairs perfectly with their impressive selection of beers. The staff is known for being incredibly friendly and accommodating, making it a welcoming spot for families and beer enthusiasts alike.

Best bartenders kept the cup full and the conversation flowing. Whitney & Jenn! Thank you for the good time.. with that being said let’s talk about the manager, wow allI can say is you let that position go to your head. You told us to be quiet and we were too loud, im sorry it’s a BAR and a bank was playing louder than we spoke. You will run off all the business if you keep that up!

Ramona B — Google review

Really enjoy this brewery. The wheat/peach based Son of a Peach is amazing. It used to be available around Norris Lake in Tennessee but it is no longer distributed to this part of the country so I made a run from Cincinnati exclusively for picking up several cases. Well worthy the effort Also enjoyed the fish and chips which were perfect and brought out extremely fast. Great staff, great facility. Highly recommended.

Alex C — Google review

RJ's has an amazing beer selection, everything that we've tried so far was absolutely delicious. The food menu is not too big, it seems that they like to change it up once in a while. However, so far we've never had a bad experience. Everything tastes fresh and very yummy.

Olga S — Google review

This review could change, but it was only 6:30 and they were out of most of their menu food. It took a while to get service, but this could’ve been just a bad day. The beer I did have, which was the first snow was actually really good, I’ll be buying it again. We’ll come back and I’ll give it another review after I’ve had their food.

Russell C — Google review

Very good flavor and cool atmosphere! The only negative was that it took 45 minutes for them to bring out our food but other than that good experience.

Alec F — Google review

I have been twice recently and have not been disappointed by the food or beers! I’ve had the fried Phunky Chicken Sandwich and the Buff Puppies. The chicken was much larger than the bun which provided a few challenges but I would go back any time just for the Buff Puppies. The smash burgers are pretty tasty as well! It can be a little loud at times, but doesn’t make it impossible to talk and have a great time. I will definitely be going back.

Robert M — Google review

One of the best spots in downtown, and very kid and dog friendly - we're here every week! The Deli Korner menu is also fantastic and pairs great with the awesome beer selection. Everyone working there is super friendly and accommodating. It's definitely worth a stop in for a pint or two.

Justin G — Google review

food and service was just average here. nice atmosphere, but other than that there seemed to be better options in the area for dinner. they were out of many menu items, on my third choice i landed on this, which wasn't very good.

Alan K — Google review

Fun place to catch some music, local brews and German food!Thank you, John B - it was a fun evening and I am sure we will return!

Dawn C — Google review

The servers are great and the food and drink is too. But they just started charging you to be able to park there and eat? You now have to pay extra just to visit. Makes me not want to show up at all. No other place downtown makes you pay like this to visit them.

Had a great time at Rocker Brewing Company! The atmosphere was fantastic, and the chicken sandwich was delicious, though a bit dry—make sure to ask for sauce when ordering. Street corn was cold, which was a letdown; couldn't finish it. Overall, a positive experience with room for improvement in some dishes.

Was in town passing through for business. Great atmosphere usually live bands the nights I would patron. Barkeep we’re usually very friendly and the pace is broken up into two sections. 1 for the main taproom and the other will a full bar. All in all the experience was great and enjoyed the brews! Cheers!!

Brilliant evening with fantastic live music from Jay Maybry. Check him out when he plays here again. Great beer, food, and staff. Well worth a visit!

Carolyn R — Google review

We did not come at a very good time to catch this place at its best, so I don't think we got to see how much fun this place could be. We'll definitely be back to check out RJs a few more times, and I hope to be able to bang out a solid 5 stars for them.I understand you can bring your dog to a certain area of the bar, so that's a pretty cool feature that I'd like to try out.

Christopher H — Google review

The only negative I could find in my experience was no normal sweet tea.The service was exceptional! No matter who was helping us they were always on top of it.The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered several things to try and couldn't choose what was the best. Our waiter suggested some great beer selections, their October one was amazing.

Angela R — Google review

Nice building and layout. Great seating selections both inside and outside. The bar seating was great! I had the shrimp and crab dip with fried wontons. They were good and I enjoyed the flavor. I had two great IPA selections and both were tasty! Nice atmosphere and great service! I will be back.

Biking Trails

The Swamp Rabbit Trail, a 20-mile paved bike trail located in downtown Greenville, was once a former railroad corridor that now serves as a multi-use pathway for walking, running and biking. The trail features amenities such as lighting, restrooms and fountains for the convenience of its users. It is known for its great condition and tree-lined surroundings which provide an enjoyable experience to those who use it.

A fantastic resource in Greenville for people wanting to get outdoors - the expansions are making this a major artery for runners and bikers - it's an easy ride with no large climbs, well-maintained and a great place to get in a good ride or run. Highly recommended!!

Bill P — Google review

It is a relatively nice and mostly shaded bike and running trail to go on. You would like it. Though towards the south end, once you exit the park the rest is just off a street.

Frank F — Google review

Hiked the Swamp Rabbit Trail from its beginning at Tate Road into Fuhrman University to mile marker 27.5...all I could think was Michael Corleone went to school here in the Godfather? Lol. Anyway, decent trek heavy traffic . Have to circle back and complete from falls park into Furhman...Loved the Paris Mt views from the gas station and Fuhrmman Lake.

Adam G — Google review

Beautiful and well maintained trail with may banks to rest.

Christian J — Google review

This is an awesome place to walk run and bike. There are places to park and restrooms along the way. The Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery stores is a cool place

David D — Google review

Great network of biking, walking and running trails. Pavement is in great condition. Lots of trees. Always expanding.

Dusty S — Google review

This trail is among my top 10 favorite in downtown Greenville!

Rob Y — Google review

Store is very cute, lots of items to choose from locally from crafted cheese to local veggies. The homemade salsa was amazing. Aside from the staff not knowing where the bike rentals were I'd recommend the turkey sandwich && a nice little picnic outdoor in the patio area. $$$

This place is awesome. All ages can find something to enjoy about this place. The cooler weather helps out with the walking. The monthly activities allows our family to arrange their schedules so that they can attend these events as well. I'm all about family time and this is a wonderful place to do that. Bring a picnic and sit under the trees and feel the cool breeze blow. Its worth the drive if you're not a local.

Mary J — Google review

Visited Fr 5 Aug 2022. An excellent experience. Easy to access. Tremendously informed docents. Some locally made crafts (I bought two pairs of earrings!) Kid friendly; history appreciating adults!Sure: restrooms clean!I hope to visit again in fall when there's a gathering of Native Nations.Come. Walk (easily visited, easy and close in paths.) Learn. Pause and get a few connections of our common history.

L — Google review

Hey ya'll. The grounds were wonderful. Even with all the rain it really didn't get too muddy. The pavilion area fantastic. The space, lights, staging area, and ability to park right up to it in order to unload makes it perfect for events. The bathroom house was a relief to see and so cozy and clean. 3 private stalls that even include showers, with a small sitting area in the main space. The best part about was the surroundings, it is absolutely stunning here! I would highly recommend this place for any event.

Pamela S — Google review

My daughter and I went to the Native American Pow Wow and enjoyed the event tremendously. The presentation were well done and the vendors had a great selection of items on display!

Kevin M — Google review

A great afternoon picnic area with rich culture teachings all around from the plants to the rock art. Also there is a 9 hole disc golf across the road. We went for a field trip. It is a very cool place and they have chickens and one duck as of now.

Jonathan H — Google review

This is one of the best historical sites I've ever been to. We will be coming back soon and we'll make sure it's on a date when this mill is open. I think they still make corn mill here. This place is still in very good condition. Hopefully they'll continue to keep it up in such good condition.

Thomas W — Google review

Loved it! The old still was interesting! Blacksmith working Mill not working Saturday we there but very cool. Was able buy gifts like moonshine jelly, popcorn meal ect at gift shop.

Deborah B — Google review

It's nice to visit historic sights especially when they are still in operation. To get a look back to early American ingenuity at putting water to work to make life easier. They still sell fresh ground products here. When your in the area I suggest you stop in and check the mill out. From the large water wheel to the belt driven machinery it is really something to see. There is also early American cabins and Indian artifacts on display.

Don C — Google review

Edited: Hey, Hagood Mill. I thought I gave you five. Here's the other star. Looking forward to coming back.I came to the Americana Folk Festival. Entry fee for this event was 5 dollars, but I think it depends on the event. This place is great! Can't believe I've been twenty minutes away and haven't visited in the five years I've lived here. I'll be a frequent flyer. There's always something going on.

Laura L — Google review

There has been a grist mill operating on the property since 1792. The current mill has been in operation since 1845. Fresh yellow/white grits, yellow and white cornmeal, wheat and rye oats amoung other delectables available in the gift shop. The mill grounds these products during special events held the 3rd Saturday of each month. There are many other attractions to see while here. Historic cabins and the Petroglyph Center are other highlights of the Hagood Mill Historical Site. They also have an 18 hole disc golf course. Hours of operation: 10-4pm Wednesday- Saturday.

Hugh S — Google review

I love this place. Have been to several of their events and always a good time. And it's just a really cool, interesting place to wander.

Jane F — Google review

I had a great time looking at the historical buildings, walking the trail, and seeing some petraglyphs. Our tour guide was a very sweet cat, she walked us through the whole trail.

Monica W — Google review

Absolutely love this place! I am a photographer and have purchase the photography yearly pass for my second year now. This is absolutely one of my most favorite places to shoot. The staff that run this place are absolutely the nicest and caring people you will ever meet.

GINGER K — Google review

My wife and I attended the deep winter blues festival and we camped for the weekend. We had a great time......

Kurt W — Google review

This is such a great place to explore. The gift shop is amazing, and the variety of gifts and goods, especially fresh grits and cornmeal, alone is worth the visit. I even learned how to "correctly " spin a top from the shop hostess. Much history, great experience...so much more than is mentioned here. Check it out for yourself!

Charlotte B — Google review

I have been wanting to visit Hagood Mill for a while. Who doesn't love a good mill? On the site, they have several buildings besides the mill itself. Most of them are accessible and do have some furnishings to give you an idea of the era. The water wheel of the mill does run and inside the building you can see actual parts of the former mill's processes. Additionally, they have a building with a small museum with some history of the area, and the most interesting things of all, the petroglyphs. There is special lighting and a narrated explanation of what you're looking at. It's fascinating and well done. Of course there is a gift shop on the property and the nice folks there are very informative. Things to consider: you're outdoors between the buildings, with dirt and rocks, so wear sturdy shoes and some insect repellant. If it's a hot day, you need sunscreen and maybe some water. We got really hot, really fast. There are restrooms and handicap access.

Animal park

Zoos & Aquariums

Hollywild Animal Park is a zoo that boasts a vast array of animals who roam freely. Many of these animals have been featured in movies and television shows, and the park offers safari rides to visitors. One of its main attractions is the drive-in Christmas lights display and feeding experience, which is highly anticipated by visitors every year. Despite some issues with vehicles going in every direction during feeding time, people love this unique opportunity to see these precious animals up close.

We went to the zoo for the drive in Christmas lights and feeding zoo experience. The lights were good and our daughter loved feeding the animals. The only thing is during the feeding section there’s no order so the vehicles were going in every direction.

Jessica W — Google review

Unreal experience for children and adults alike! Having the tongues of the creatures lather your hands with their saliva is quite the involved experience and not for the feint of heart. Make sure your little ones are ready for some in for face wild animal action. No lions, no Tigers, no Bears, but oh my is this experience is - as the kids say these days - lit 🔥

It's D — Google review

Awesome awesome very Merry awesome touch for Christmas.Buy your tickets in advance for both zones, and get the biggest bag of food to enjoy interacting with the animals. Very well taken care of.Thank you Hollywild!!!! I came from far to disconnect from a hard week of work and I got served above and beyond!!Kudos!!!!!

Marce — Google review

I look forward to this ALL year! Absolutely my favorite thing to during Christmas!!! I LOVE all of these precious animals. Best Time!

Gennifer S — Google review

Great staff! Animals were super cute and look heathy! Place is kept clean no trash on sight. Had a great time. Make sure to buy lots of food bc the animals do love to eat it.

E. P — Google review

We came to Hollywild to see the Christmas light display. The line to get in was not that bad. The lights were pretty decent, but charing $10 a person was a bit steep (and then another $10 per bag of food if you want to feed animals in the deer yard). I didn't mind paying them because I knew the money goes toward care of the animals. The deer yard would have been better had not there been SO many cars in it ... it was chaos and deer were running all over. I felt bad for them. Perhaps letting only so many cars in at once would make for a better experience for people and for animals.

April E — Google review

We had a blast if this isn’t a place to take your family to enjoy Christmas lights and seeing the reindeer, then there’s no other place to go. You’re admission fee is really helping the animals and when you buy the bags of food to feed the animals. It also goes towards them. It’s out in the middle of nowhere but when you arrive, you will be surprised.

Craft R — Google review

Went for the Christmas lights and to feed the animals. The lights were beautiful and well done. The wait to get in was understandably long but once you are in, you follow the path of the lights and it was very smooth moving and at a great pace to see everything! Once you get to the animals where you can feed them, the traffic is chaos. There is no path to follow and there are cars going every which way! It’s fun to have the gentle animals come up to your window for food but the structure around traffic is difficult to manage in that area. No one is there to direct cars so it’s kind of a free for all. After you leave that area, you’re back on the vehicle path and all is good getting back out. Loved the experience overall!

Marie S — Google review

This was great fun and a good way to introduce city kids to animals. We drove through twice while an assortment of deer, emu, donkeys, geese and more ate out of our hands. This family owned business deserves support. Thank you for creating and maintaining the park for the animals and families like ours. We will be bringing all our visitors here.

F H — Google review

My kids always wait for the season when we could visit this place. Hand feed the animals, they always are very excited. Nice to see many animals so close. Three stars only because of very short period for visiting this place

Olena H — Google review

Have had this on my “must go” list for two years now after hearing from local friends about how awesome it was - finally made it this past weekend and I’m sorry to say it was an enormous disappointment. It appears that what used to be a unique local attraction has been outsourced to some third party to operate and it’s gone majorly downhill in the process. We spent $40 just to drive through the park and see the lights and then an extra $10 to experience the “enchanted deer forest” - most of the light display consisted of these canned sculptures/lighted signs propped up along the side of the road - the kind you can see on display in any number of cities for free. Half of the lights were out across the park - you could see several sculptures and structures that looked like they were maybe supposed to be lit, but the lights weren’t on for whatever reason. The signs at the entrance said to turn your radio to a particular channel (I assume to hear Christmas music) but the station was nothing but white noise. The “enchanted deer forest” was basically a section of open parking lot area with a herd of terrified deer running around trying to escape from cars that were driving around at them like some kind of strange vehicle rodeo. If you wanted to throw food at them, that cost extra $$. Santa’s village was open this year, but whereas that had been free to walk through in prior years, now they charge extra $$ just to enter (and there’s not much in there to see) plus it’s an extra charge if you want to do any of the activities in there ($30 for the “best deal” ticket package to do the 3-4 activities available). Plus it took us over an hour and a half just to get in and drive through the thing, which sounds like it would be great because that’s more time for the money spent right? But because the displays were so lame it just made the entire experience more painful - that’s an hour and a half of my life I can’t get back. So disappointed.

Jennifer B — Google review

The drive thru was not the greatest for being marked off. Got turned around but it is part of the ride. Lol. Had a blast feeding the deer and cows. What a treat for young people and all. Thumbs up from all of us.

Ronnie M — Google review

The lights were spectacular. Definitely worth your money. The village was also great for kids and much easier to feed the animals. The drive through animal was a bit hectic. The deer just run terrified. I felt bad and left. All that CO2 they breath in. Do the walk thru. So much better. Kids love it.

Matt — Google review

We have so much fun , this place it’s a most go if you’re visiting the upstate oryou’re from around , it’s amazing how you can touch and interact with deers cows and bulls, I feed them with my own hands 😁

Irene J — Google review

Lots of light decorations and an enclosed field full of deer to feed. They were all very cute, and so were all of the animals in Santa’s workshop. I only knocked off a star because it seemed like they were lacking some animals this year. I do not know the reason.

Aidan M — Google review

Lights are better than years past, and santas village was expanded but we went on Thanksgiving so it was slow and understandably understaffed but newbies don't understand the flow of the reindeer forest. KEEP MOVING!

Campbells Covered Bridge

Bridge

Sights & Landmarks

Built in 1909, SC's sole remaining covered bridge spans Beaverdam Creek & is surrounded by parkland.

Quaint piece of Americana can be felt at Campbells Covered Bridge. It's painted school yard candy red which makes it stand out in the landscape. The parking is plenty and there are picnic areas around to enjoy the stream flowing under the bridge. It's very nostalgic and impressive to see a 100+ year old structure still intact.

Jessica S — Google review

A great place to go on a short road trip. A beautiful, well preserved, well maintained park area. Enjoyed a few hours here with my four legged travel companion and I think he loved the park even more than me. My dog really enjoyed playing in the water under and around the bridge.

Ronald B — Google review

Visiting Campbell's Covered Bridge was nice. It's beautiful for anyone wanting some unique pictures taken. We enjoyed the beauty of the land & how the bridge fits in so naturally. It's easy to find for everyone.

B — Google review

Very awesome covered bridge. You can feel alot of history happened here. Still some stones exist of an old home and mill. This is an excellent picnic spot. There are also a lot of trails nearby.

Joshua W — Google review

What a great little picnic spot! Shallow stream rinsing under a well-preserved covered bridge. Original stonework visible. Nice hiking trails and not over-crowded.

Zachary A — Google review

I love this place! 💘My husband introduced me to this place for the first time, about five years ago and I fell in love with it.I love to get out and snap pics of beautiful nature scenery, and this place made it easy to do🌈. I didn't have up edit many of the photos I was able to get and the ones I did, it was just me wanting to play around with them. The water is so peaceful and the walk was beautiful, and the atmosphere breathtaking! 🥰

Leah G — Google review

It was a beautiful experience, the place was very calming. They had good information on how it came to be and the times it was made and restored. Definitely recommend, especially since there aren't very many left in the US.

Jenn M — Google review

We came upon this gem as we were driving the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Drive. This is one of the stopping points on the drive and did not disappoint. It is a beautiful little spot, very shaded. Would be a perfect spot for a wedding. As were we there, there were some people doing a photo shoot. Very peaceful and relaxing and plenty of room to have a picnic.

Dave C — Google review

I love coming up here for just a place that's quiet and serene. It's so beautiful here with the bridge, all it's history, and the river. The bridge is currently undergoing conservation repairs as of October 2022 so hopefully it will be open to walk through again soon. All other areas of the park are still accessible just as they always have been.

Jacob P — Google review

I have been going to this place on & off for years, with my boys when they were growing up and now with my 5 grandbabies, ages 4-14 and now we ALL love it!! And now I love taking them 🙂. It's just a beautiful place with the beautiful red bridge over the river and plenty of space and room for family activities and picnicing.

Kelly S — Google review

Cool place to stop. Walk across the bridge, wade in the creek below or have lunch at one of the picnic tables. Walking trails are a great way to see lots of different plants and some animals. They keep the bridge looking nice, just painted it.

Missy K — Google review

This was such a peaceful place to visit! I will definitely be back and have a picnic in tow. It's not a far walk down to the bridge and it is beautiful scenery. You cannot drive through the bridge but there is a decent amount of parking. There are no bathrooms on site so be sure to stop before your visit! It's worth a visit for sure!

D S — Google review

Much had been reconstructed to preserve the bridge so some imagination was needed to appreciate the original bridge history. Short drive from Poinsette Bridge so can be combined together.

Tim G — Google review

Ample parking area with trash cans. The bridge is a very short walk down a path and there is no entrance fee. Probably “peak” scenic in the fall or under winter snow. In summer the creek running under the bridge can be accessed from both ends of the bridge, but there is lots of algae on the water rocks which is extremely slick.

Theresa H — Google review

Nice covered bridge. Very clean, inside a park. You can walk right down into the water

Bill M — Google review

Very pretty place. Took my dog for some photos since we were in the area

Amber W — Google review

It's a cute little bridge, very short but still worth going to see. There is some renovation work going on at the moment and unfortunately a lot of ugly orange barrier netting that is hard to avoid in photos. Otherwise the surrounding area is nice for walking and the river is pretty. We'll go back later when there is more greenery and the construction is gone. UPDATE: we have since been back and all of the renovation work is done and the bridge looks lovely!

Patrice C — Google review

Such a beautiful place to see. The bridge, the creek and the trees starting to change. Make sure this is added to your trip.

This overlook is spectacular and fairly accessible to most with a wood walkway out to the rock platform. Towards the back of the platform you'll find Devil's Kitchen down a stairway to a narrow pathway through a split in the rock. Ample parking and nice bathrooms. Multiple places to visit nearby as well.

Ceasers head park, the views here are spectacular you can see downtown Greenville and Table Rock, I also got a view of glassy mountain in peakens, great place to visit. Here at Caesars head state park, Benches and restrooms are available and they also have a gift shop just make sure to come in early or it might be closed but too early might leave you out since the parking gets quite full, have a great day and see ya around.

Wow, just wow. When I saw the view for the first time my mouth almost hit the floor. It was a gorgeous day and you could see for miles and miles. One of my kids said this was the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen. Anytime I’m in the area from now on, I’ll ride up here JUST for the view.

The view from the overlook is absolutely stunning. The walk takes less than 2 minutes and would be easy for anybody to do. I would very much recommend stopping here to anybody.

Cory S — Google review

Absolutely worth the stop. It will take only a few minutes to walk to the view point. The view is incredible when it's clear and still very cool when cloudy. There are bathrooms here, vending machines, and a pretty well stocked visitor center with snacks, gear, postcards, information and more. 100% worth a visit!

Josiah K — Google review

Jm L — Google review

Had some Family from Florida stop in town for a few days and we drove them up to Ceasers Head to look at the Fall Folage. It never disappoints to visit here. Such a Beautifully maintained Park and the views are incredible. It's usually never very crowded so you can really take your time and enjoy the sights. When you bring out of town people here they always enjoy it. Highly recommend visiting here. And don't forget to donate on your visit so that it remains this way for generations to come.

Wanted to hike while staying in Fletcher when I came across this recommendation. Totally loved it!! Very nice trails. Beautiful waterfalls. Everything well marked. Not too long of trails plus, they all connect. I would definitely 1000% come back here next time I'm in the area.

Bethzaida C — Google review

Extremely easy trail, at least for me. Definitely go early in the morning. We arrived there at 8 am and we had lots of parking available but once 9am to 10 am starts, the space definitely gets filled in. I recommend coming around 7:30 am to 8 am. The roads are mostly gravel and parts of the trails are very wide which is nice for groups of people. Our sheltie was pretty good, not too tired so definitely pet friendly! The most beautiful waterfall for us was high falls. Highly recommend this trail!

Peter M — Google review

Awesome waterfalls, simple hiking. Beautiful. Clear waters. Very green. We loved it.When we went in mid May, the rhododendrons had already finished blooming but the mountain Laurel were blooming and beautiful. We took tons of pictures. The trails are gravel one lane roads so you can walk side by side.

Alexandra L — Google review

What a beautiful place to spend a weekend, and gorgeous falls all around to visit and take pictures! The trails allowed for our pack llamas, and hosted our pack trials this year. We were able to see horses, and the trails were perfect for all levels of hikers and bikers. The roads were easily accessed, and well-maintained, the welcome center was helpful, and the rangers were courteous and attentive. I would 100% refer anyone to visit here who enjoys the outdoors!

Jessica H — Google review

Such a beautiful place! Saw three different waterfalls all in one hike. We also went back early morning the next day just so we could catch the sunrise and have this place all to ourselves. There are unmarked access trails that will get you up close to each waterfall. Definitely a must see if you are near this area.

Ryan C — Google review

This is a beautiful area with lots of outdoor activities...hiking, biking, driving those unpaved state roads and admiring those gorgeous waterfalls. Be careful this time of year because the snakes are out! They blend so well into the leaves.

Melinda K — Google review

This is such a great place, took 3 of my kids ages 8, 12 and 15. They loved the view. When pulling in off the main road the parking lot will be on your left. It is a one way circle. The area to the trail is not marked well. If you head straight back if your looking at the information sign and then turn left when you hit the dirt road/ large open trail. It’s down hill to the falls. Easy grade. It’s a little bit of a walk, if you go in the summer please bring water as it will be humid. When the trail came to a end you can go right to see the lower part of the falls or left to see the upper part. We stayed in the left and it was so worth it!! The falls are gorgeous and you can see the top of the lower falls from this point too. Please watch your kids and don’t let them wade in the water as it would be easy to slip and it could be too late to catch them. Unfortunately there were some people who were letting their kids swim despite signs that say not to.I suggest getting there early in the morning as when we were leaving around 10/1030 the parking lot was full.If you need restrooms: before you turn right out of the parking lot to head back on the main road you will want to turn left. Head down the road until you see a log cabin on the left and the restrooms are behind that. No one was there and it was such a pretty place.Oh! As always wear good shoes, don’t have a careless accident over wearing flip flops. I’m an avid hiker and every time I visit a place like this there is always some one hurt or about to get hurt because of not being prepared.Nearby there is a couple cute stores, restaurant and a cave.

Alisha T — Google review

Beautiful waterfalls. Saw the triple and high falls with our kiddos ages 0-9. At some point carried each of them, but they were able to traverse the hills and loop. Stopped to enjoy the river along the way at multiple points. Lush rhododendrons along most of the trail, which means we’re going to come back in June!

Kevin W — Google review

Great place for a nice hike. It rained on the day we had planned to hike, but we decided to hike any way. The hiking paths were not slippery at all. We were able to see all the three falls on the falls loop. It was a happy hike in December. Waterfalls are awesome.

Sun D — Google review

So many breathtaking views in a short distance! Trails are well maintained with plenty of places to stop. They also have public restrooms, visitor center and picnic areas. What a great day to hike!

Sherman N — Google review

Went to Asheville, North Carolina for a family gathering and we decided to go hiking here at Dupont state recreational park the Hike was fairly easy not many hills, and it had several waterfalls. I believe it took about two hours in and out round-trip, and was well worth it.

EDWARD Q — Google review

This trail system offers so much variety. Even on a beautiful fall day with a packed parking lot + street, had no problems riding the trails or climbing ridgeline! Love this place

Austin D — Google review

God's beauty and creation! The falls were breathtaking, trails very well maintained. What a great place to unwind. Need better parking though. Had to park a mile away due to parking lot at capacity

Jeff H — Google review

Beautiful state forest with gorgeous waterfalls! Most of the hikes are pretty quick and easy. The hike to Triple Falls was a little steep towards the end but nothing too bad. I saw lots of elderly people doing this hike so you absolutely can do it, just take little breaks😊

Crystal T — Google review

A beautiful place to visit and hike! Some steep climbs not for the faint of heart (or knees haha). We brought our puppy and had an amazing time. A bit crowded at the different waterfalls, but it’s obviously why. Definitely recommend for a 1.5-2 hour hike depending on your pace

Briana A — Google review

Absolutely beautiful park. Lots of people even for a Thursday at lunch. The first parking lot we went to was the triple falls trail and was full so we parked at the high falls trail and lucked out with a great spot. Much more parking available there. Beautiful swimming spots, plenty or hiking trails, no camping allowed, and dog friendly as long as they’re leashed. Perfect for a day hike or picnic.

Madison T — Google review

The three falls, high falls, and three lakes trails (all combined) are phenomenal! In a 5 or 6 mile hike home you get tons of beautiful views of fake, lakes, rivers, bridges, etc in one.

Joe W — Google review

Great waterfalls to see and a manageable hike to get to them, however just know it is VERY steep hills at times. Not something u want to do with elderly, or with strollers.

Great place for hiking Waterfalls. The flow of the river is awesome. From the parking lot its pretty easy access, one fairly steep ascent

Spent the day there in early Oct. Weather was great. Trails well maintained. Wasn't crowded but I'd bet it gets pretty busy on weekends. It's a pretty good hike. You don't have to do any scrambling but you should be in decent shape if you plan on being there all day.

Dave I — Google review

Spent 4 days hiking the trails here with our pup. Had a blast! Trails were kept up nicely and parking was plentiful

Jill — Google review

Such beautiful scenery. Pete at the visitor center was very kind and gave great directions for the directionally challenged. Would love to visit again in the spring.

Jennifer L — Google review

Such a beautiful area with amazing hiking opportunities. Many of the waterfalls are near each other and easy to visit multiple in one day. I can’t wait to go back and explore more!

This is my kind of winery. Not too big or too small. Varies seating options and light snack. Lovely grounds. Wonderful service and delicious wines. We went with the rosé on a hot summer day. Will be back for more soon!

Kelli M — Google review

A gem in the middle of the road... My family and had decided to do a pits stop at this vineyard... We were welcomed by a furry lady waving her tail at us (Hazel) the place was full of wine lovers and just a great mood. The 3 ladies taking care of this place were also the best part of coming here. Very kind, polite and friendly. And the wine was just delicious, this place made me feel happy.. 100% recommended.

Alexis C — Google review

Only gave it 5 stars cause they dont have 10! This was our first time coming here and it did not disappoint! It was so beautiful and the owners were so nice and personable! The wine was also fantastic! We do not like sweet wines and theirs was amazing! And the BEST part of this whole place was there's NO KIDS allowed!! 👏👏.. It was so nice to finally go and not hear screaming kids while trying to relax w a beautiful scenery! We will be back next week!

Tanya R — Google review

Beautiful winery! It's about an hour drive from Greenville SC just over the border of NC. If you'd like to eat there you need reservations otherwise you can sit in the garden and enjoy a glass of wine. Beautiful grounds, friendly staff and good wine! It was a wonderful relaxing day, peaceful and fun. Highly recommend!

Lynn M — Google review

Last Friday, on the way to Saluda for a girls weekend, we googled "Wineries Near me" and found Over Mountain. We had no reservation but it was also like 1:30 in the afternoon so they were so very inviting and took us right in.I like doing tastings where you actually learn something about the winery and the product instead of just having glasses of wine poured and Mark gave us the perfect experience. He gave us an amazing tasting and we had such a great time. It was fantastic and we will definitely put it on our list of things to do again.

Shanna H — Google review

Loved this winery! Beautiful decor, delicious wines, relaxing vibe, and friendly staff. I made reservations for out of town guests and they were very impressed!

Judy J — Google review

Such a relaxing wine tasting experience! Sitting outside on their patio and sipping on AMAZING wine (seriously, I don’t usually prefer red wines and I ended up taking a bottle home) and enjoying the weather at Overmountain was one of my favorite parts of visiting North Carolina. If you want to go to a wine tasting and feel like you are off on a romantic Italian vineyard in the mountains, this is your place.

Emily B — Google review

Surprised we had to make reservation, but our server was excellent, friendly and very personable. Wines are on the dryer side which was good for us, but maybe not so much if you like sweet. Sangria is made fresh every day and has a special recipe. Very dog friendly as well.

Hard W — Google review

Wow!. The moment we arrived we received red carpet service! The owner (Mark) met us on the walkway and informed us he set up a nice area for our group. It was private! We enjoyed the wine and the food we brought in. Plenty of water was set on the table. The view was breathtaking! Visit this vineyard and you will love your experience! Don't forget to make reservations!

Roxy M — Google review

TEN STARS! I cannot recommend this fantastic little slice of heaven enough! We elected the elevated wine tasting and toured the vineyard with Sophia, and her family's super sweet Great Dane, Max! Sophia was phenomenal, not only knowledgeable about wine, but a huge joy to walk the grounds with. Her whole family was very personable taking their time to interact with us! The wine was absolutely delicious and the experience truly was amazing. We definitely overstayed our welcome, but we cannot wait to go back!!

Megan M — Google review

Wow what a wonderful winery. Bonus the wine is great! Mark was great spending time with us taking us through the history and culture of the Vineyard. Our party stopped here on a whim coming home from a weekend at wineries and this one hands down won the weekend. They even have two Airbnbs on the property that we booked for a future trip this year. Amazing.

Norman L — Google review

Great service and wine tastings. Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Verdot, and Port. Picnic friendly, food trucks occasionally. Relaxing environment.

Wonderful port wine. Best sangria ever. Made everyday from family recipe. Beautiful gardens. Nice owners. Special place.

Beautiful place, with beautiful memories. I just made the biggest mistake of my entire life. And I’ve made quite a few. I crumbled at the last minute. And hurt all those around me yet again. I am sorry Ana. Mia. And all those I’ve let down. I promise you don’t hate me more than I hate me. For those people who think I’ve moved on from Ana don’t know me very well at all. I tried to, desperately.. knowing that she was done. I absolutely don’t blame her. I am so sorry for the pain I have brought into your lives. Things were so much on a better path. Thank you for all the people that have been so supportive. Ana is an amazing woman, and mom. And her family is amazing as well. Please lift her and Mia up. They don’t deserve any of whatever is going on. If this is fact real it has to be the worst news ever for her. For all of us.

This place is amazing! The horse events are fun, the restaurants are great, and it's fun to walk the little shops. We love coming here!

Angie E — Google review

It is an amazing place to visit. This facility for horse competitions makes you feel like you're in a city in another state. It's definitely an asset to Rutherford County.

Nelson R — Google review

This place was such a wonderful experience! The competition was amazing to see in person! They offer free pony/horse rides for kids and a cute little horse race kids can participate in. There was a lot of things to do here with the carousel, the bounce house, basketball and football throwing bounce activity, and many more! A lot of different options for food even though it is way over priced but it all makes sense why this is considered a free event. There is a starbucks inside the store and delicious ice cream. Overall we had a great experience and will be back again for more! Thanks ❤️

Julie R — Google review

Really enjoyed Saturday night family fun during the summer. Only complaint was the wait for certain things. The center did a great job shuttling people from their parking spots so we didn't have to walk with 2 little kids. I don't eat meat or dairy and there were food options that I was able to enjoy.

Alexandra A — Google review

One of my favorite places to work at and visit! Grounds are so nice and the events are for everyone! Can not say enough good things about this place. Prices range from moderate to some what high at most of the venues and shopping places inside the complex.

Amanda P — Google review

Wonderful experience! There are tons of fun and free things for the little to do! Lots of food options and drinks to choose from. We had never been before, and we will definitely be back to a Saturday Night Lights! Fun for the whole family! The horse show was amazing. We've never seen horsesjump in person and it was so much fun to watch!

Emily G — Google review

Wonderful venue. Seen a top notch rodeo. Listened to great live music. Had a great sandwich and cider from Rogers. Can't wait to go to Saturday night lights!!!

Jan — Google review

Was here for a company event. The venue was beautiful and spacious. There were so many nice views of the grounds no matter where you were sitting, standing, or talking with others. There is a lot of seating inside and outside. Our event was catered by the facility and the food was great. There were lots of options, including vegetarian. This is a great place and space for a company social event or to visit on your own with family and friends. Overall it's a beautiful venue with great views and food, ample parking, and seating.

Peggy — Google review

Love having the Equestrian Center at my back door. Had a great night listening to the live music for the St Patrick's day evening. Stirling Bridge put on a great show!

Dennis B — Google review

Beautiful place to visit during their events. It's very quiet when events are not in session, so make sure to find some other activities with your kids.

Traveling and stopped by, this place was beautiful. Wish we would've had more time to spend there, seeing the horses was so much fun.

Had an amazing time! Currently in a wheel chair and everything, including the shops were wheelchair accessible. Venue is great, there's really no bad seating in the entire arena! Love the fact that there is a campground and cabins on the premises!!

Renee B — Google review

I absolutely love getting to visit here and see the beautiful horses perform! It's a great spot to go for family visiting, or a first date, you can get sushi to go from Blue Ginger and have dinner and a show! I'm so grateful to have a place like this so close to home.

Miranda J — Google review

The staff were pleasant, the market is adorable, but the food for Breakfast with Santa was pretty much the quality of the free breakfast at a hotel. It was nearly $200 for our family of 5 and even the waffles were so bad we left hungry. It was not crowded and Santa was engaging but would not do again.

Thomas F — Google review

It’s hard to describe this place! There’s entertainment, excellent restaurants, beautiful stores (must see the chocolate shop) and of course world-class equestrian facilities. From massive themed events to a casual diner experience to high-end shopping, this place has a lot to offer. I look forward to continuing my exploration of experiences that TIEC has to offer!

Stephanie B — Google review

We attended the last Saturday night lights and it was awesome!! Great show, food and the best night our family has had in a long time!! Can’t wait to go at Christmas

Best New Year's eve of my life. 80s band and dance. So much fun. Beautiful Christmas lights & drive. Awesome drinks & prices

Tamra J — Google review

Amazing location with a great story. There are stores and eateries on this location. Over half the year there are equestrian events. Hotels and cabins on site. The place is massive. In the summer, live music 2-3 nights a week. Check the website to find out what's happening. Definitely worth visiting during an event. If you're not adventurous or into horses or crowds you can go early in the week and explore and still go to the stores etc

Brian L — Google review

Beautiful facilities. Attended the Earl Scruggs Music Festival there. Excellent festival.

Sights & Landmarks

The Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site is a preserved goat farm and farmhouse where the renowned poet lived until his passing. The site offers a glimpse into history with well-preserved artifacts and an uphill walk to the home and farm, providing a shady and enjoyable experience. Visitors can explore the upper level of the home, but it requires climbing stairs. The tour is described as delightful, offering warmth and positivity from personnel including shuttle bus drivers and tour guides.

The home and tours were not open. However it was open and free to walk the trails and pet the goats which was surprisingly fun. There were a couple NPS guides at the goat barn and they were good about answering questions. This was a very pleasant way to spend an hour or two.

John B — Google review

Loved the goats, bit of a hike depending on time of day and age of parties involved. Very friendly goats and staff to assist. Adult and baby goats separated. Awesome free activity for the kids. 3 chickens nearby and pretty waterfall. Lots of walking trails. Limited parking, suggest arriving early. If parking at playhouse, need to move your car by noon

Brett W — Google review

Great historical place to visit. Tip: Pack a lunch and bring water with you. Also, RSVP ahead of time if you plan to take a guided tour inside Carl Sandburg’s home. Lovely gift shop. Plus, goats to visit and pet during your visit.

Debra R — Google review

This was a delightful tour that I recommend for anyone!(Although take note to see the upper level of the home you have to climb stairs) Such a beautiful place and story. It leaves your heart warm. The personnel was very informative and positive to be around. Right from the shuttle bus all the way up to the tour guide! The little gift store has beautiful gifts at affordable prices. And the grounds, barns and animals are very enjoyable.

Janice T — Google review

The house tours just recently opened to the public but we were unaware until we arrived and did not have reservations. Beautiful walk thru the woods from the parking area. There are several trails. We took the gravel trail around the lake and up the wooded hill arriving behind the home.

Brenda S — Google review

The grounds are nice. Several small buildings to view. One played a very interesting video about how the Sandburg's ended up in North Carolina. We did not tour the home, instead we hiked the 2 miles up the mountain to a rock look out. Absolutely gorgeous. We greatly enjoyed the area of Flat Rock

Candace S — Google review

Such a cool place to visit! The goats are so sweet, great with children. The trails are nice, although I didn’t explore all of them. The views are wonderful and the history is fun to learn about. If you go soon they have baby goats right now, I was told they are 9 and 11 weeks old.

Madison M — Google review

Beautiful place to hike, spend time with goats, and learn about the Sandburgs. Three baby goats were born today, one while we were there. I have brought my kids for years, and it's always fun.

Galen F — Google review

Beautiful home at the top of the hill which there are two options to get up! The first option is to hike up the hill (which the pedestrian bridge was down when I visited so there was detour) or you can take the shuttle from the hikers parking lot! I highly recommend seeing the store on the first floor of the house and then taking a tour if possible! He was an amazing American poet as you learn more about his life!

Daniel D — Google review

Not wanting to spend a fortune to see the Biltmore, I was looking for a place that offered walking trails and great American history. The Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site was exactly what I was looking for - and with my National Parks pass I was able to get a free tour. The grounds are really beautiful for walking, hiking and exploring - both near the Sandburg residence and in the surrounding area. There was ample parking and there were clean and accessible restrooms when you entered the park area. You do have to do a bit of walking to get to the home, but it’s an easy to moderate walk. The tour (8-10 people) was extraordinary and our guide was excellent. And the home was left almost exactly as it was when the Sandburgs turned it over to the National Park Service, packed some bags, and left. It’s almost like the family went out to run errands and I got to look around their home while they were gone. A really extraordinary experience for literature, history and cultural buffs.

Michael C — Google review

A nice historic sight, well maintained. Bonus for the walking trails. They do offer a shuttle for those who need it. Herd of goats at the barn, which is fun for kids to see. There are plenty of options for parking and clean restrooms.

Emily — Google review

We were quite disappointed that the place closed early for a staff training. It would have been helpful to have a sign at the parking lot. There was an easy hiking trail from the parking lot to the house. There was a sign that says we can call for the shuttle, but we decided to hike the trail so that we can be in the house before the afternoon shower. We got to the house as it began to rain, but that was when we found out that the place was closed. They allowed us in to wait for the rain to stop, but we were not able to see any of the exhibits. We would have left and not hiked the trail to the house had we known that the place was going to close at 2:45 pm (we arrived at 2:45 pm) had we known of this early closure while at the parking lot..

Kei R — Google review

We stopped by on a Wednesday morning for a relaxing hike up to Grassy Mountain Overlook. The hike was about 1.5 mile and about a 2000 foot elevation change. The view was well worth the effort. We also walked around the house and hit the gift shop. Highly recommended you spend the afternoon on the property.

Douglas A — Google review

One of my favorite places. Our whole family loved the experience. The boys loved the goats and I loved the old buildings and trees. Such a beautiful property! The front parking lot has a trail through the woods to the house and farm. There is another parking lot over by the farm. The house and farm are a short walk on a gravel road. There are several old buildings to check out along the way. The whole farm is self guided. You can let yourself into and out of the fences with the goats 🐐 we did not tour the house this time because we had two small children with us.

Kylie — Google review

I wish I had planned ahead to schedule a tour but the hikes around the grounds were lovely and the goats were the friendliest I've ever met. We learned a lot about the poet and his wife!

Mya H — Google review

Brought my 70-something parents here today, they let us bring car up to goat area (handicap parking) Perfect fall day, helpful staff, reminiscing about a simpler more introspective life. Didn't hike this time, but enjoy the trails.

H H — Google review

Lots of hiking trails, goat herd to visit. The house is very historical and worth seeing since it is filled with all original items just as the family left them. Important note: house tours book up well ahead of time. Go online to get tickets well ahead of the date you plan to visit. The tickets are currently free, but there is a $5 charge for processing.

Loretta D — Google review

This is a great historical site to visit. The grounds are beautiful and the trails are great. The trails are not bad, they are all just climbing up to the top of the mountain. It was worth it for the view. The baby goats were the best part.

Beth M — Google review

Great visit to the Carl Sandburg home site with some nice hiking trail loops. Nothing too strenuous but may tax you if you're elderly or don't get out much. Nice to see the goats, barn cats and birds. Lots of mushrooms in the forest if you pay attention. Really nice 👍

This is an excellent place to visit!!! Love to walk up the path to the goat barn and visit the diary barn, chickens, and goats!!! Scenery is truly stunning!!! I have been coming since I was a tiny tot, and I still love to come back here and walk around!!! Parking is really the only tricky piece because there never seems to be enough of it!!!

The Mineral & Lapidary Museum boasts an impressive selection of rocks and crystals from various regions, along with exhibits showcasing dinosaurs and meteorites. Visitors can expect to spend a significant amount of time at the museum, as enthusiastic volunteers are on hand to educate guests about the fascinating displays. The museum also offers classes and other services related to gem faceting, making it an excellent resource for those interested in the field.

I love rocks and crystals so I always enjoy stoping by the little museum for a tour of the rocks. The little display case that teaches you about afterglow was my favorite. You can even purchase a geode for them to crack open. Mine had some red glow to it. Highly recommend you stop by if you’re in Hendersonville.

Kitty D — Google review

Amazing collection. Great people volunteering there, I wish we had more time to look around more and talk faceting. They offer classes and other services. Seems like a really great group to get involved with

Leanne A — Google review

Really neat place. I was impressed with the different geodes I saw. They were so beautiful. The fluorescent light exhibit and demonstration was really cool too!The admission is free, and the street parking is free for the first 30 mins, but you have to use your phone to link your tag to the parking zone. I don’t want to share too many pictures so I don’t spoil it for anyone, but I would recommend coming here if you’re in the area. The staff was very kind and helpful. I could sit and stare at some of these pieces for a while. Good thing they don’t have seating 😂

S L — Google review

Ok, thought this was going to be just a quick stop. Spent the next hour with the volunteers teaching the grandkids the wonders of the displays. They all went home with different rock. Awesome place to stop by if the have a chance.

James Z — Google review

This was a very cool find! Lots of neat displays, some hands on areas for the kids, and a very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Quite a fun place to visit!

Gregory S — Google review

Rocks are cool! Lots to look at. You can buy a geode and they will break it open. No admission fee just donations. Very nice people.

Sophielarue P — Google review

Very fun experience. We went here on vacation to Hendersonville. We enjoyed seeing all the minerals and fossils on display. I've always been a big fan of geology. The coolest thing we saw was a pain "mineral" made from paint on the floors of the Ford factory. This place is really enjoyable, and it's free. But make a donation though!

Jake R — Google review

I enjoyed this small but very educational museum. The admission is FREE but they accept donations. There are awesome displays of different gems, crystals, fossils, petrified wood, shark teeth and fluorescent gems. You can purchase geodes and split them right there! Absolutely stunning collection on display.

Olga S — Google review

Charming little museum! The gentlemen working there are friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Affordable little mineral specimens for sale, and purchase a large geode to be cracked open. Great way to spend an hour or less for FREE or donation.

Vickie R — Google review

This is an awesome "hidden gem" in downtown Hendersonville. The volunteers here were so friendly and knowledgeable. We learned so much during our short visit. The highlight for me as a lifelong dinosaur lover was their skull cast of an adult Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Peter H — Google review

What a great experience! Apple Festival crowds and they still did a great job! Cant wait to come back and do it again. The staff were excellent and happy to help/explain everything. Geode splitting is the best!

Rhine D — Google review

I would highly suggest anyone visit this museum if they have any interest at all in rocks and minerals or fossils! This has been my go-to stop for a rock and mineral shopping haul for two years since I finally discovered its existence (long overdue)! The volunteers are always so friendly and helpful. They are knowledgeable and passionate about the exhibits and they are very kind about helping you with any purchases you make while at the museum. There are so many things to see here although the museum is small so please don’t be discouraged by the appearance of the room when you first enter! Take in everything! Each piece is incredible in its own right and they really take pride in everything they display. Also… you cannot beat the prices here. I LOVE buying way too many rocks and minerals for my own good because I know I’m getting an absolute steal. So take the trip, take a chance, whatever you need to do, it’s worth it to go into this museum!!!

Rachel P — Google review

Nice museum. It was free to enter. My son loved the fossils and gemstones they had displayed. We were able to see them opening a geode for another customer. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend it to those who like gemstones and fossils.

Jemilla T — Google review

I will get photos for this review soon but I have been in this place many times and to be honest they really need some people in there to entertain but I will say one thing is that Hendersonville has gotten super dipernpopilar so I will say good luck finding a parking space!

Elijah Mountain Gem Mine And Crystal Store is a beloved spot located just a short distance from downtown Hendersonville. Visitors of all ages can experience the thrill of gem mining, immersing themselves in the role of prospectors from the 1800s. The mine offers both outdoor and indoor water flumes where you can sift and pan for various gemstones such as rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and amethysts.

Definitely a highlight of our holiday vacation. Shop is loaded with all kinds of gemstones, rocks and jewelry. There's a big area to mine for gems and an area to walk and explore behind the mining area. There are even friendly goats that love to be fed!

Pat C — Google review

Great family fun! Unique creations made from gems. Mining was a hit with our family! To get into the store was free, of course. However, there are various rates to go gem mining. It just depends on how many people and what type of mining you want to do. We chose the "family dream deal" which was around $108.

Angela L — Google review

If I could give 20 stars, I would. I loved every second we spent here! They have goats and chickens. You can feed the goats, and they're so gentle and sweet. The buckets we did had tons of cool gems, definitely worth the money. The store inside has TONS of beautiful gems. Our experience was made 1000 times better because of the awesome customer service. Joe was super helpful and so nice. He took the time to explain the mining process, and offered to identify any rocks we had had questions about.

Taylor W — Google review

A huge shout out to the staff here! We just left here after the power had unfortunately cut out due to a tree fall, they went out of their way to make sure our experience was still fantastic as always and continue mining and enjoying our time here. I already enjoyed coming here because of the experience and all the animals, but this really just made this my favorite gem mine! I will 100% continue to come back to this lovely place and I hope you all do the same!

5-star fun in Hendersonville NC! Get the green value bucket vice individual buckets. One adult can scoop into the panning trays and keep 3 kids entertained for 30-45 minutes. Tons of “gems” from the family size bucket. 5-star, friendly staff. We’ll visit again in our next visit.

Patrick — Google review

Awesome selection of crystals! Very affordable bucket mining prospecting for the family and kids! They have Goats you can feed and peaco*cks out back! They even have a small obstacle course too with a small river flow coming through. Very cool and unique place to stop by while your in the area or Asheville area.

My family and I have visited Elijah Mtn multiple times over the past 5 years and every visit has been just as remarkable as the first.Since our last visit in 2021, they’ve expanded a great deal. This visit, aside from our traditional bucket digging, we fed goats and admired so many different species of beautiful birds. It’s a wonderful spot for a day full of fun and experiences, there’s tons of picnic tables scattered throughout for families to enjoy and watch their kids play from. There’s a brewery now!I could spend all day there and still want to return the next. It’s a MUST visit!Today will always be particularly memorable.Thank you Sherbet, your help was beyond impactful and healing. You’re a gem (pun intended), and truly the most precious and rare one I saw in there today. 🖤Until next time! (Never know, it could be tomorrow 😉😆)

As someone who cares for all animals and rescues as much as I can, I am always worried about going to a place that has animals and how the up keep is for the animals. As soon as I saw your animals, I knew that they were very well cared for and loved. Everything was clean, lots of room for them. Had water and food. It made me so happy to see them happy. My kids also had a wonderful at the wooden play area.

We absolutely loved this place. We took my mom for Mothers Day. Super nice and helpful staff. We found lots of really nice gems, had a beer, shopped, fed the goats, relaxed by the river, great place for a picnic.

Skwirl — Google review

This was our first time in Hendersonville but not our first time gem mining. We've been to two other places in NC and these were absolutely the largest gems we've come across. It was fun to explore the gems and the staff was engaging and fun to chat with. Would definitely recommend.

Gloria F — Google review

We spent $165 for a huge tub and found so much fun soothing for rocks and gems. We found several big geodes. Cute gift shop had so much to offer. Cute joy pond inside. There was a cute playground outside and a lil petting farm goat peakco*ck pheasant and chickens

Tabatha L — Google review

This gift shop and mining place was very beautiful and nicely arranged and decorated! A lot to see! Prices for mining was a little more expensive than Pisgah gem mining, which is right down the road but it's a more upscale place and has other things to do for the kids, (a playground area.) We didn't do gem mining there but instead, we mined at Pisgah and shopped here at Elijah mtn.

We are so glad we happened to come across a large road sign advertising for this place! Reece and Joe were so knowledgeable, helpful, kind, and friendly. We would highly recommend visiting, shopping, gem mining, and feeding the goats at Elijah Mountain Gem Mine. Thank you, Reece and Joe, for your hospitality and great energy. Your "old" friends, Brenda & Kristi

We had promised our oldest the We were going to take her to a gem mine since little sis had been a mo th earlier with their class to another mine. We really didn't feel like driving over an hour to go to our normal spot. My wife searched and found this place. We didn't know what to expect but went for it. We get there and my girls loved it. They loved everything. The mining was great. They have awesome gems. We got the $40 bucket and walked away with some incredible finds. The obstacle course was fun and the goats were cool. My girls loved every minute we were there. I HIGHLY recommend this place and we will be back soon.

Fantastic experience from the kids up to us as adults! Staff was excellent and helpful. What we found in our tub was nothing short of incredible and memory making worthy. If you are able we definitely advise getting the 30 gallon tub!! The store inside is wonderful as well! Nice little activity area and goats to feed as well.

We absolutely loved Elijah Mountain gem mine! We have a big family and the everyone had the best time. We had four kids and used a Groupon. Each kid was able to get a zip lock bag full of gems with just one bucket. They each got a few things from the $1 treasure island. The prices here are great and the people that work here are so welcoming and friendly. We were able to feed the goats and play outside. We will definitely be back.

Natalie J — Google review

We had such a great time at Elijah mountain gem mining! We did the family package for our 4 little miners. It was definitely worth it! They all collected over 50 gems each! Plus lots of smaller ones on top of that! Staff is so kind and helpful. Cocoa bar is top notch and a great deal! Gift shop was phenomenal and plenty of fantastic deals for all the little geologists!

Lynn J — Google review

This place has several gym mini g stations. There is a playground and animal feeding and petting locations. The store has a lot to look at. Overall prices are good and can handle a lot of kids. Gyms in every pale for the kids to keep.

Brandon D — Google review

This was our first time gem mining. The price was reasonable and we found a lot of really cool stuff. The two guys working were very nice and helpful. They have a few animals out back too. Overall we had a great time.

#4 family friendly thing to do in the world!$16 was fun for my daughter and she loved her gems and the experience of rinsing them off. And the balance playground was a super hit with kids! Best for kids four and up.Lots of gifts to buy and a favorite would be the magnetic balls.

What a cute spot! I brought the toddler I nanny for here today and he loved it! The goats are the friendliest I’ve ever met and there’s a beautiful peaco*ck here as well. Plenty of picnic tables and a natural playground for older children. Looks like they’re constructing some walking trails/other things and I can’t wait to see what’s to come! Will be back

Madison M — Google review

Great activity for kids. Indoor and outdoor gem mining area. There are great fossils and the gems are good quality and price.

Andre R — Google review

Great gem mine experience and good value for everything you get. My friend and I split the Green Giant bucket and we are satisfied with our loot. Cracking the geode was really fun too! Keep in mind that this place can get crowded so you may need to come early for parking.

Waterfalls

Photo-ready waterfall (named for a smooth rock that freezes) with a plunge pool & quick road access.

This waterfall can be seen from the road and is a short walk from the car and down the staircase, onto the river to be next to the waterfall. The rocks are slippery and the water is ice cold. There is also a mist that comes off the waterfall, which feels great when it’s warm out, bur I could imagine not so much when it’s cold.Overall this waterfall is beautiful! So many great photo opportunities and very peaceful if you want to hangout and enjoy it!

Stephanie R — Google review

Absolutely beautiful, easy hike down actual stairs and then over a few rocks to get to the falls. Was very crowded on a summer Saturday but a short hike up the stream you'll find peace and quiet. You can swim right in pool of water below the falls and even be under it if you can stand all that water! Parking was the worst part, we had to park on side of the road about half mile away but was worth the trip!

Misty S — Google review

The waterfalls are beautiful and right next to the road. Due to easy accessibility, it can get really crowded. Good place to cool down on a hot day, go for a dip, sit under the mist or watch from a distance. There is parking along the road and be careful after you park and walk along the road. One has to walk down the stairs to get to the bottom of the falls. The view even from the road is nice. There are a few benches, not a lot. Wish there were more facilities and space for people to enjoy a picnic here.

M B — Google review

If you can avoid going on the weekends, TRY TO, because it is insanely packed. However, when it's not busy its so beautiful and so serene and so peaceful. You can walk through the little river pretty far and find tons of flat rocks to skip, lots of crystals, especially quartz and calcite. If you love the water and outdoors, this is a must visit!

Looking Glass Falls is a stunning 60-foot waterfall located in Pisgah National Forest, near Brevard, North Carolina. The coordinates for Looking Glass Falls are approximately 35.2962° N latitude and 82.7694° W longitude.### HistoryLooking Glass Falls is named after nearby Looking Glass Rock, which is so named because water and ice on its surface can create a mirror-like reflection. The falls have been a popular destination for visitors since the early 20th century, largely due to their easy accessibility from U.S. Highway 276. This accessibility has made them one of the most photographed waterfalls in North Carolina.### Flora and FaunaThe area surrounding Looking Glass Falls is rich in biodiversity. The lush, temperate rainforest supports a wide variety of plant life, including:- **Trees**: Eastern Hemlock, Red Maple, Yellow Birch, American Beech, and various species of oak and hickory.- **Shrubs and Groundcover**: Mountain Laurel, Rhododendron, Ferns, and Mosses. The abundant vegetation provides habitat for a diverse array of wildlife. Commonly spotted animals in the area include:- **Mammals**: White-tailed Deer, Black Bear, Eastern Gray Squirrel, and Raccoon.- **Birds**: Carolina Chickadee, Northern Cardinal, Pileated Woodpecker, and various warblers.- **Reptiles and Amphibians**: Eastern Box Turtle, American Toad, and various species of salamanders.### Nearby TrailsWhile Looking Glass Falls is easily viewable from the roadside, there are several nearby trails for those interested in hiking and exploring the surrounding forest:1. **Looking Glass Rock Trail**: This trailhead is located a few miles from the falls. The 6.5-mile round-trip hike leads to the top of Looking Glass Rock, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Pisgah National Forest.2. **Moore Cove Falls Trail**: A short 1.5-mile round-trip hike that leads to a smaller, but charming waterfall that you can walk behind.3. **John Rock Trail**: This trail is a bit more challenging, with a 5-mile loop that provides stunning views of Looking Glass Rock and the surrounding area from atop John Rock.### AccessibilityLooking Glass Falls is one of the most accessible waterfalls in the region. There is a parking area right off U.S. Highway 276, and a short set of stairs leads down to an observation deck. This makes it an ideal stop for families, photographers, and anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty without a strenuous hike.

MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PLACE . I took my daughter here for her birthday last year & we had a blast. We got here a bit late so it was getting dark but the experience was still the same nonetheless. It isn’t trashy, the patrons are polite + It is very easy to get super close to the falls. The experience here is magical each time, with Covid going on & all the craziness in the world, its nice to deactivate the phone while enjoying mother nature. So peaceful, aesthetically pleasing + serene. Will be back per usual .

Beautiful and family friendly! We took our 3 boys (13, 3, 6 months) and had a great time! The 3 year old was able to walk down and up to the water below. There is a viewing spot above that is handicap accessible but there are stairs and rocks to navigate if you want to touch water. My boys enjoyed claiming on the rocks and exploring. The 3 year old was the only one crazy enough to put more than toes in the water (it was cold!). We were there around lunch time on a Wednesday in mid-June and it was pretty crowded but we could still explore and get pictures. Parking was all along the road at and before the falls. If you wait to park until you are right at the falls, you may have to go down and turn around (there are a couple of turn offs ahead).

Kylie — Google review

This is a very accessible waterfall on the side of the state park road. Park on the right hand side leading up to the falls as soon as you see a spot. It’s about 50 stairs down to the base of the river. There are some rocks and the falls are about 100’ away. The falls themselves are beautiful and probably about 100’ tall and 30’ wide. They are spectacular and you can wade in the river before the falls and below as well.

G U — Google review

Spent a couple of hours at looking glass falls Sunday morning for an engagement photoshoot (I took the photos). I had never been so I wasn’t totally sure what to expect. It stayed pretty quiet until about 10AM. At that point it got a tad crowded and parking became a little more sparse. So definitely come as early as possible if you can! Overall I can’t recommend this spot enough- for photos or just to admire. It’s basically right off the road. To get even closer or to access the swimming hole / creek you just have to go down a flight of stairs. Be prepared to be blown away!

Katie W — Google review

Embarking on a rainy weekend hike to Looking Glass Falls provided a unique and enchanting experience. The trail, approximately 0.3 miles round trip, offers easy access for all skill levels, making it suitable for a relaxed outing. The rain added a refreshing touch, enhancing the vibrant colors of the surrounding foliage.Despite the weather, the 60-foot waterfall showcased its beauty, creating a mesmerizing scene with water cascading down the rocky face. The trail's well-maintained path and stairs allowed for a safe approach, even in wet conditions. The mist from the falls created an ethereal atmosphere, adding to the allure of the journey.Visiting Looking Glass Falls on a rainy weekend unveiled a different perspective, emphasizing the resilience and beauty of nature even in less-than-ideal weather. It's a short yet captivating hike, perfect for those seeking a quick escape into the natural wonders of North Carolina.

Harsh P — Google review

Wow!!!!!! Gorgeous waterfall!!! You can drive right up to the steps and walk down, there are many surrounding areas to hike too. We came March 2020 so it was a little chilly for swimming but what a wonderful place this would be in warmer months to cool off. We had lunch on a bench with our family while watching the falls. It gets pretty busy off and on but when you see how magnificent it is you’ll understand why. Short drive into the park and so worth it.

Katherine S — Google review

These water falls are proof there is a God that creates such breath taking & beautiful water falls! A photo is worth a thousand words right! See for yourself! So many people enjoying the beauty! It’s a short walk down the steps, but the photos are best from the overlook you walk few steps from your cars.

Donna C — Google review

Looking Glass Falls is beautiful. There is a pretty decent amount of parking nearby. Once parked, it's a short walk to the overlook. There are also steps leading down to the bottom of the falls and an area to walk around there too. If you're nearby, it's definitely worth the time to stop by.

Jon M — Google review

Beautiful view. Parking can be a little tricky on busy weekends as it is limited and on the side of the road. You may have to walk in gravel on the sloping hill to avoid being on the road. Nice overlook where you can take pictures. There are stairs you can take down to a middle landing for additional pictures, and you can also walk all the way down the steps to the base of the falls. The walk back up looks intimidating and can be difficult for some due to the steepness and height the stairs go up. Many people wear water shoes and walk across the rocks to get in the falls and creek flowing from it. It is at your own risk and can be very slippery, so be careful. There are one or two benches for seating on the landing and the bottom area, but on busy days, don't expect anywhere to sit.

Beth E — Google review

Looking Glass Falls was an incredibly awesome place to stop at earlier today and take in the beauty of as we exited the Blue Ridge Parkway and drove down 276 South. We're here in North Carolina on vacation in the Lake Lure area and decided to spend the day looking at just some of the beautiful nature scenery that this area of North Carolina has to offer. This was the final stop of our planned route and it did not disappoint at all. The weather was great out today, it wasn't particularly crowded here when we stopped, and the mist from the waterfall felt incredible along with the cool breeze. I highly recommend you make the stop to see this waterfall of you're in the area. You will not be disappointed!

Jason H — Google review

Absolutely remarkable place!! One of the best waterfalls to visit while in Asheville because it right off of the road and you do not have to hike to it. There are stairs that you can walk down to get to the waterfall. The waterfall area is so gorgeous and there is water that you can get in under the waterfall. It was very cold. We got there early in the morning and found parking easily but as the day goes on, the parking spaces fill up.

Ashley H — Google review

Very beautiful to say the least. Definitely a trip worth taking. So relaxing and breathtaking! God is Good! Waterfall is seen from the road and its a very short walk to get to the falls.

Michelle C — Google review

Beautiful falls!! The trail was easy and well maintained, easy parking and plenty of other friendly people were there. Gotta check it out!

Regan B — Google review

Beautiful Falls, located just off the road, making it easily accessible without any hiking required (although, I always prefer hiking). Simply descend the stairs to experience the natural splendor of the falls up close.

LL — Google review

This is a super accessible easy to visit large waterfall right next to the road. 110 well maintained steps take one to pool at bottom of falls. Nice boulders to climb over. Easy access does make for a hideous number of cars and people

Craig J — Google review

The waterfall was truly breathtaking! We were driving to Moore Cove and stopped on the way. There was parking on the side of the road and stairs to get down to the falls - it was very easy to access. I felt completely awestruck by it, stunning!

Emily F — Google review

So beautiful but very crowded. I’ve been going here for years but I haven’t been there in almost a decade. Back then we were the only people there. We got to swim in the water and play under the waterfall and it was awesome!! Now parking is a pain and the constant flow of people coming and going was a little overwhelming for such a beautiful and formerly chill place. We still had fun though. We saw a wedding and I’m guessing was a septuagenarian swim from the rocks to the waterfall and back. I took a Timelapse video of all of these things and more.

Haynes G — Google review

Such a beautiful waterfall! You don't even have to hike to get to this one, just pull over on side of the road. You can take steps to get to the bottom of the waterfall.

Crystal T — Google review

Parking is limited, but the view is beautiful! The steps are a bit steep, but there are rails to hold onto. There are 3 platforms for photo ops, but you have to step off of the concrete onto large rocks to get to the water. I didn't go off the concrete, as I use a cane, & didn't feel comfortable trying to walk on the rocky area.

Trish D — Google review

A great waterfull, but no real hiking here. Easy to get into some cold water if you want though.

Kevin G — Google review

Great spot to get a waterfall experience without having to hike. Just a couple of flights of stairs are all that separates this roaring falls from the road. After heavy rain, the bottom can be a bit tricky. Also, if it's freezing cold, the mist from the falls will coat the bottom stairs and rocks in a thin sheet of ice. Great spot to play in the water in the summertime. Highly recommend visiting these beautiful falls, especially for limited ability folks.

Hannah P — Google review

It’s a must see and very easy to do. Parking is all along up and down the road. Nice quick little walk to the falls. Get there early if you don’t want the crowds. It’s not very far either after you enter Pisgah. Great for an easy day and good for families. Beautiful set of falls

Sliding Rock is a natural water slide located in the Pisgah National Forest, offering a unique and refreshing experience for visitors. The 60-ft.-long rock creates a low waterfall that leads into an eight-foot-deep pool, providing a fun and cool escape from the summer heat. While it can get crowded, there are plenty of spots to relax on the rocks and watch others enjoy the slide. The area offers ample parking and attentive staff, including on-site guards for safety.

I've been on countless trips through the pisgah national forest throughout my life and I always set aside time to visit here for a bit of fun on the river

Joe S — Google review

Great fun for all ages, depending on the time of the year/day of the week it can be busy but there is much more to explore hiking and enjoying the park. Not handicap friendly or for those with severe trouble walking.

LOE_FREY — Google review

The water was cold but the waterfall was fun to slide down! (We went out of season, so it wasn't crowded)

Jordan H — Google review

A very nice recreation area. Ample parking spot. Staffs were nice and attentive , on location guards are available , there is a decent crowd / queue for water slide. I’d you have small kid who is a beginner in swimming , please take a wearable float or floating jacket is recommend. Our party enjoyed a lot , this slide is for everyone and I’d you followed posted recommended position (seating ) then you can enjoy without fear. This natural slide is one of the best we ever enjoyed. I definetly recommend this attraction . There will be crowd on weekends , for each round expected 15 mins waiting time but you will not feel bored since you will be watching others slide and it is fun to watch. Your party members can wait on the deck or take a picture or video of you sliding.

Prabha S — Google review

Cool spot to check out if you’re in the area and it’s an easy walk. Not crowded during fall, but I can imagine it’s full of people sliding down it during the warmer months. Saw 2 people do it today, so if you’re good with it being 50F outside plus the cold water, go for it!

awesome, awesome, and awesome. i went here off season, when no one was available to swim, that's why the photo is very empty but wow!

The flow was so strong because of the rain from last night, that sliding could be dangerous and there were no life guards as well.

10/10!! it was so fun and exciting!! the water was really cold, but besides that, I had a lot of fun! definitely would go back

Vanna C — Google review

Beautiful, I came in the winter and did not actually slide on it so I have no experience there. Short walk to the waterfall, easy, quaint and picturesque.

DO IT. WE went super early during the week, no lifeguard present, only one other family there. The water was freezing cold. Great once in a lifetime experience.

Victoria R — Google review

Loved the slide but warning the water is super cold! We got there around 11:30am and it started to get very busy so I recommend going earlier to beat the crowds. Bring a life jacket for the little ones and swim shoes for all

Alissa C — Google review

Very nice place to visit. There is a big rock on which you can slide. There are life guards on duty until 6:00 PM. After 6:00 PM you can slide but on your own risk. There is entry fees $5 per person. Here if you are lucky you might get parking space since it has small parking area. Other wise you can park near by. This place has restrooms and changing rooms too. Staff are really nice and very kind. You will love this place and can enjoy with your family.

Andy D — Google review

Really cool experience. Know the line will be horribly long to wait to slide down. Water is freezing but worth the shock. They do not offer military admissions even though they are part of the national parks.

S A — Google review

This is a great place to bring the kids and have some fun in nature! The water is cold but it’s what makes it so great! They do have lifeguards during the day. It’s 5$ a person to go into the parking lot. Usually on busy days they have law enforcement there as well. No picnicking I guess bears.

John M — Google review

Made a stop at Sliding Rock as a part of our girls day adventure. Went on a Friday in August; it was about 100 degrees out, so while the water was super cold it wasn't too bad! Waited in line maybe 10 minutes each time to get to the top of the rock and slide down. Spent about an hour sliding down the rock. Definitely recommend some type of water shoes! No picnicing allowed so we went down the road to Looking Glass Waterfall to sit and each lunch with a view!

Kim H — Google review

It was beautiful. They do charge $5 per person. The drop is about 10 feet deep. Not a really big area for swimming just the bottom of the slide. But other then that the kids enjoyed it.

Visitor center & hands-on heritage museum with woodland hiking trails & early-1900s buildings.

It was National Public Lands Day, so Cradle of Forestry was completely free. They have a wonderful & educational indoor exhibit. There are also 3 walking trails (developed) that are 1 - 1.3 miles long. The one path/trail even had an audio tour you could download before hand.My family had a great time. It was a perfect little field trip cause we were able to see everything in a single day.Excellent field trip for Homeschoolers & boys & girls needing badges for Scouts or TrailLife!!!

Tristan D — Google review

The Cradle of Forestry is a beautiful destination to visit with your family. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The main building had a nice little museum that told about the history of forestry, and it also had a nice little area with replicas of animals in the area. My toddler loved the underground crawl-through area with underground animals on display. We only had time to walk on the “Forest Festival Trail”, but it was great! There was a train at the halfway-point of the 1.3 mile loop that we were able to explore and ring the bell on. There was also a trout pond and a few other old forestry items. It was a very beautiful and peaceful walk.

David R — Google review

This place is spectacular! I've lived here for years and this was my first time up there but surely not my last! There was also a waterfall and trail on the way there. I will be doing that when it is warmer. Wow! Nature's beauty abounds! Check it out!!!!

Beautiful space. Most polite staff. Well executed exhibits. We showed up late and were given passes for the next day. The trails around and between educational exhibits were all paved and shaded. The building restoration was meticulous, and drew in the imagination. The Cafe was not open when we were there. Looking glass falls was breathtaking.

This place is more than five-star! It rained the night before and I wanted to walk on a paved trail. Cradle exceeded my expectations! The staff was super professional and friendly. In the visitor center they play a 15-minute video about the place. The entrance charge is $6 per person - well worth it! There is an exhibit hall in the visitor center - cute exhibit! There are two trails and we walked about. The trails are well kept and very clean. All the buildings are well kept and show us rich history of those great men who started the US forest history. The bathrooms are very clean too! I appreciate the wonderful work they have provided!

Great, friendly, helpful staff and volunteers. Museum, paved walking trails, logging train engine and car plus historic buildings. Check out their website for upcoming events. Lots happening there! Discount entrance fee with America the Beautiful (national park annual or senior pass). Some events require pre ordered tickets. Regular entrance can be purchased when you arrive.

We really enjoyed visiting. Very easy walking as all trails are paved. The approx. 1.3 mile forest loop trail was particularly nice because of the many different birds singing in the woods. There are some large stands of mountain laurel and rodedendrum and a scattering of flaming azaleas and truly spectacular trees. If you like history, the old logging railroad tracks and railroad hardware and forestry buildings from the 1800s are also well worth visiting.Very knowledgeable staff in the visitor center and also the gents conducting restoration work on the railroad log cars.

This was so fascinating and a great place for families. Most of the exhibits inside were interactive. It was so interesting to see where forestry was started. One note... adult entrance fee is $12, but they give a discount for using your valid. annual pass.

We were on vacation to Asheville. Our good time was interrupted when my boyfriend was unable to find his wallet. We had the idea that the misplacement occurred at the Cradle of Forestry. We returned there, and we were unable to find his wallet, but what we really found was a group of employees/volunteers that traced every inch of the parking lot looking for his wallet. They showed up very supportive and empathetic. We are still thankful for what they did.

This is a beautiful park facility on the Blue Ridge Parkway about 25 miles west of Asheville, NC. There is a one and half mile loop paved walkway showing the schoolhouse for forestry students, general store , and living accommodations in the woods. In the park building you will find exhibits, history of school established in 1898, a movie, gift shop and restrooms. There is plenty of parking. Park personnel are friendly and knowledgeable of the history of the school. Don't miss it!

Outdoor Activities

Lake Lure Beach and Water Park is a charming mountain lake destination in North Carolina, offering a traditional beach experience along with a kids' park featuring water slides and games. The 100-yard clean beach provides direct access to the lake for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, or simply relaxing on the sand. Visitors can enjoy picturesque views of the Blue Ridge Mountains while partaking in water activities or strolling along the Town Center Walkway that leads to the beach.

Husband said this is where Dirty Dancing was filmed, have t looked it up yet, but the experience was great, it's so beautiful. We walked along the boardwalk, nothing spectacular about that, then we took the walking trail......just beautiful.

This place i really thought was just so cute, and just awesome for kiddos! The beach was a decent size. They have water slides for ages 4+, and a splash pad by the beach also. Disappointed they close really early, at like 6 for the beach and 5:30 for the slides and splash pad. My 1 year old loved the splash pad. Our other kids enjoyed the slides and beach area. I think the staff could maybe be a bit more friendlier at times. They have a Japanese restaurant right beside it which was really yummy! Good sushi there.

Katie K — Google review

This was our 1st time here and it was absolutely beautiful! The water was nice and cold. They have a place to put in a Kayak and looks like some good place to going fishing on the lake. They serve hotdogs, water, soft drinks and ice cream pops. No alcohol and they do check your bags randomly. Very clean sand. They are ducks , Geese that walk around. Beautiful little town.

Livinglife G — Google review

A quaint beach nested in the mountains. Pictures do not capture the beauty of the mountains. It’s $10/adult to access the beach and the views are well worth it. My friend and I enjoy relaxing on the beach and enjoying the views and good company. A perfect place for a picnic with friends and family.

Libby S — Google review

It was an awesome experience for my family and I. We live 2 hours away and got up early arrived right when it opened. My son who is 3 loved swimming in the lake and playing in splash pad. We also went canoeing you have to pay additional money but its worth it for $20 for an hour. There is a picnic area to eat and stay shaded from the hot sun. I loved there were water slides for big kids and water ballon area. After the beach there are shops that surround the area that you can grab a bite to eat and grab souvenirs. Overall was very happy with our experience and definitely will be coming back!

Jasmine I — Google review

Nice clean beach. But they refused to return my money when, after paying for the entrance of my whole family, thunder rumbled and everyone was asked to get out of the water. I decided to immediately leave the beach and came back to pick up my money literally in 5 minutes, but they refused to return them to me. The mood was ruined.

Tyson S — Google review

Beautiful spot. We didn't go swimming but enjoyed walking around and looking at the scenery. It was a great and peaceful spot to relax. Great stop on the way to Chimney Rock. It was also the lake where they filmed Dirty Dancing.

Heather F — Google review

It's is one of the most beautiful lakes I have seen, surrounded by mountains from all sides and a good option to cool off on a hot day. They charge $10 per adult, but the changing rooms are on far end of the beach. I saw a lot of people came in without paying too. The bathrooms are not very clean, and they can definitely use some more showers. The sand is not that great but good enough for a man-made beach on a lake in mountains. I was surprised to see that water wasn't very clear. Just a mile west to the lake, very clear river flows which you should visit too. They have a couple of water slides which were a lot of fun. It's just an okay option to visit in summer

Kaushal D — Google review

Nice área to relax and enjoy the mountains . great view.they have a special place for kids and a really safety crew members l mean the lifesavers the are focused on everything and everyone safety.aldo will be nice if the lay down more sand in the water l least 12' more feet will be awesome 👍😎 so don't feel the funny muddy

Enrique L — Google review

Set there early or you won't get in once they reach capacity! $10/person. Beautiful lake beach that is roped off..very nice atmosphere. Slides, fountains, and splash pads. If you want music bring a speaker. No alcohol, but you can bring food and drinks..they do check coolers. I think they're open from 10a.m. to 5p.m. The surrounding community is very nice. There's a Japanese restaurant across the street.

J D — Google review

It's a pretty small beach and the only public point of access to Lake lure. It needs some revamping. There's quite a bit of wear and tear to the restrooms and just in general. I liked the town and chimney rock village was really nice.

Grace S — Google review

My soon to be wife and I love this place. We call it our spot and go there as often as we can. We will be getting married in Chimney Rock next month, and this is where we are having our rehearsal dinner. Great atmosphere, great view, great employee's, and most of all, great food!

Shawn H — Google review

1 of my favorite places in the world! Best views anybody can ask for. Take a picnic. Bring a float and just relax. More than likely you won't get bothered by your phone because you probably won't have any signal lol. There was a BBQ food truck there last time I went

The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge is a historic 1925 highway bridge that has been transformed into a stunning garden. Closed to traffic in 2011, the bridge now features an array of flowers and sculptures maintained by local volunteers, attracting butterflies and visitors alike. The area surrounding Lake Lure and Chimney Rock is steeped in history, with Dr. Lucius B. Morse playing a significant role in their development.

Very nice. I like the way the different gardens are constructed and got some nice ideas for the home outside sitting area. The flowers were beautiful and you can tell it's well taken care of.

Chuck S — Google review

Absolutely beautiful place to stop if your visiting Lake Lure! It’s FREE but offers a donation box for those who want to contribute to this beautiful location. There’s so many fairy housing sets, a dog area, Peter Rabbit area, mirror on the wall and so much more. Definitely suggest stopping to check it out. There’s parking on both ends of the bridge making it easy to get too. Plenty of areas to sit and relax as well. Not a far walk but if your wanting to enjoy the views give yourself at least a hour to look around. Easy to use stroller or wheel chair if needed as well as most is paved.

Constance J — Google review

This place was so cute!! So beautiful and unique also. Our kids loved it and so did we. They loved trying to find all the painted books, the rabbit scavenger hunt. The flowers are all so pretty, and the decorations are just so awesome. The volunteers who designed the different sections are amazing! One was a beach with sea shells put together & the way it was made was just so cool. They did another water one with the garden stones. I just really thought it was a cool place to see when passing through.

Katie K — Google review

This is one of the most unique and beautiful gardens we have ever seen! The many different flowers and plants that have been planted here is just stunning. We especially enjoyed the painted book rocks, they were wonderful to see each book and it's uniqueness. Definitely a must see place when you come to Lake Lure, SC or even if you're just passing through. Plus, the gardens are only about 15 minutes away from Chimney Rock State Park. Also a must see place! We will be back again to visit!!

Dakota D — Google review

This was a surprise find as we drove down 74A. Sometimes, roadside features are worth stopping at and this is one of them. Free but supported by donations. This old bridge has been turned beautiful but the addition of so many plants and unique decorations. Lots of time and care obviously goes into this place. There were so many little details we missed more than we saw, I'm sure. There was a cell phone audio tour but I didn't use it. This is appropriate for all ages and is really a site to see. The mere variety of plants alone is impressive, much less all the work, design and love.

Travis B — Google review

I had the best day exploring the Lake Lure area in beautiful NC! First we went hiking at Chimney Rock State Park, if you've never been there you have to go, I was blown away by the beauty! Then afterwards we took a short ride down the road to see The Flowering Bridge. It's an old bridge that was brilliantly converted into a walking garden. It's free but there are donation boxes to help with the upkeep. There are so many pretty areas to see, there's a rainbow bridge for all the doggies that went to heaven and their collars are attached to the bridge🥺 so sweet, there's Peter Rabbits garden, a pretty gazebo with a glass chandelier, gorgeous flowers everywhere and it all overlooks the lake. It's a small bridge, easily walkable and it leads into town where there are shops and restaurants plus beautiful Lake Lure is close by. It's so well done, I really enjoyed it. Definitely worth seeing if you're in the area!

Lynn M — Google review

This is a must-see while driving through Lake Lure! The community does an amazing job keeping the garden beautiful in all seasons. They have expanded to include a children’s garden. You can easily spend a half hour reading all about the different flowers and enjoying the butterflies. We love coming back year after year to see how much it keeps growing.

Emily C — Google review

Honestly, the only reason we went there was that a power line was down in Chimney Rock State Park, but I'm really glad we did. It is really beautiful, and I'm really glad the community could envision such a beautiful use of the beautiful old bridge. Our 12 year old wasn't terribly interested, but had he been a little younger, he would have loved the tiny garden gnome settings placed throughout the garden as well as the children's book replicas. There were also age-appropriate scavenger hunts (that our 12 year old wasn't in to).It was really sweet that they had a literal rainbow bridge where folks could place memorials (pet tags, collars, etc.) to loved but gone pets.I loved the variety of plants that worked well with each other visually, and it was so fun to watch the bees, butterflies, and moths doing their job pollinating. They were so busy they hardly paid any attention to us.Finally, this is clearly a labor of love for the community who were there in force watering, pruning, and more! They were all very friendly and helpful. You really should make a visit if you are in the area -- and make a donation to support the garden.

Troy S — Google review

Lake lure flowering bridge was absolutely beautiful. There are signs as soon as you get there with descriptions and guides. There are cute mailboxes painted there. There are also plenty of flowers with different colors and shapes. Each family of the flower has its own name and description. There are a lot of decorations, this is a great place for taking pictures. Taking a walk with the family and enjoying nature. If you’re looking for a spot to explore this is the place.

A R — Google review

Great place to see. Lots of flowers and plants plus they have a cool memorial place for dog called the rainbow Bridge. People place their loved ones collars on the bridge. Nice touch. Thumbs up 👍

Jeff G — Google review

This spot is absolutely beautiful! The pictures don't do it any justice. There were so many different kinds of flowers and every one of them were so pretty!! The Rainbow Bridge for the pets was so sweet and brought a tear to my eyes. We loved everything about this area.

Nikki A — Google review

A lovely stroll on the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge is a must. We visited in May when the spring flowers were in bloom. A pleasant stroll looking at the flower gardens that are maintained by the locals. With peaceful places to sit and enjoy!

Melanie T — Google review

Beautiful peaceful spot close to Chimney Rock and the lake. There were a lot of varieties of flowers to see as well as lizards that were encountered along the way. Recommend it for a quick stop along the way. You will enjoy the walk and it's dog friendly.

Heather F — Google review

This place is awesome! It is all maintained by volunteers and what a phenomenal job they have done! The weather was perfect as we strolled around the gardens. The gardens just celebrated their 10-year anniversary. What an amazing place with fantastic views of chimney Rock! So if you and your family are in the area please make this a must do while you're there it's kid-friendly and pet friendly as they have water bowls for your fur babies all through the gardens!

Susan G — Google review

Great stop while visiting Lake Lure. The flowers and layout are very good. Love all the different flowers in such a small area. The rainbow bridge is also very special. Loved everything about the place. Thank you to the volunteers that maintain it.

B. Y — Google review

This place is completely amazing!!! It is absolutely gorgeous and so romantic!!! Definitely a place to bring your significant other!!! I loved walking around the garden and over the bridge!!! It is so well thought out!!! There are nooks and crannies all over the place to get secluded!!! It is sometimes hard to imagine that just a few feet from you are people passing!!! The scenery is so tranquil!!! I would be volunteering here if I lived close enough!!! Go check them out!! Remember that they subsist entirely off of donations and volunteer workers! If you love your time there, please be sure to give a donation to keep it alive!!!

Andrew G — Google review

We hadn't visited the garden in years and it had been expanded and developed so wonderfully with so much creativity and love. We were very moved by the rainbow bridge section for people to honor their beloved pets who had passed. They put many lovely little seating areas tucked into quiet magical places throughout the garden. It was child and dog friendly. Was happy to see such a variety of ages and people of many backgrounds visiting the garden.

Jaleh E — Google review

First off I am biased because I absolutely love this place. I want to get married on the bridge. I just think it’s one of the coolest and prettiest places ever. It’s always well maintained and the themes are often updated so you can never get bored of it. It’s lovely and well worth it to stop and get out and check it out!

Charity C — Google review

Such a great place to stop and enjoy the peace. Our family loved walking across and seeing the wonderful garden and features. We especially loved the bricks painted to look like books. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Tanya T — Google review

Sooo pretty! Even more so at night! Kid friendly and even encouraged! Don't forget to do scavenger hunts like the peanut butter tree and sign the guest books!! Kids, too!!! It was very romantic at night and still kid friendly!

Lisa P — Google review

Wonderful recycling of old bridge! Visited in spring with lots of blooms. Gorgeous displays of TLC including a wall where people hang their dog collar on the Rainbow Bridge. Plenty of places to sit or take pictures. Names if the flowers provides education. A staff member was on duty tending to the flowers. Great attraction in Lake Lure, also very close to Chimney Rock. Love it!

Julie P — Google review

A great free attraction just outside chimney rock state park. The gardens were beautiful, just wish we were here during the peak summer season!

Brett M — Google review

This place was so good that we went twice. Once during the day and than at night. I wish we lived closer so we could go at different times of the year to see the various plants blooming. The rainbow bridge brought tears. I wish I had the collar of my good boy to leave there. A lot of planning and hard work went in to creating this site. Make sure to visit Fae Nectar down the street.

Chris L — Google review

This place is a true gem, we love bringing our daughter here. So well maintained and unique.

Rikki G — Google review

The idea of transforming an old bridge to a flowering garden is really appreciated! This cute garden with a large variety of flowers laid out beautifully will surely allure all visitors. If you are touring this area, I would recommend that you take a chance and visit this interesting ‘Flowering Bridge’

P.V R — Google review

Fun place to stop on a road trip. Really liked all the variety of flowers and everything was in bloom. It was very well maintained and there were good views of the river.

Katie D — Google review

Very good work by whomever put the place together. Wide variety of plants, trees, and herbs to inspire your imagination for your own yard or piece of property. Many plants and trees I haven't seen before. Peacefully quiet for a place to gather thoughts.

Rick R — Google review

Took an amazing trip to Chimney Rock State Park right near Lake Lure and stopped to see the Flowering Bridge. This is such a a brilliant idea, they took an old bridge and turned it into a beautiful walkable garden! There are so many pretty little gardens spread out and they created a special Rainbow Bridge for dogs who have passed away, the owners hang their dogs collars on the bridge and it's just the sweetest thing to see. It's a small garden but beautifully done. Definitely worth checking out!

Lynn M — Google review

We found this at the last minute and so glad we stopped! What a wonderful idea for a decommissioned bridge! It's so beautiful meticulously maintained. Plus, the rainbow bridge for dogs was so touching.

Cynthia ( — Google review

Beautiful, just wonderful, spend a few minutes or hours. I really liked that every plant was labeled. I took my mother for an early Mother's Day trip. A wonderfully magical outing. We will return.

State park

Outdoor Activities

Chimney Rock State Park is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. The park boasts the iconic Chimney Rock, a 315-foot monolith offering stunning panoramic views of Lake Lure and the Hickory Nut Gorge. Visitors can reach the top by climbing 500 steps or taking the elevator for those who prefer an easier ascent. The surrounding area features Main Street with its array of shops, restaurants, and scenic views of the mountainsides.

It is a bit on the pricey side to get into the park but the views are really good. The road going up is pretty narrow so beware when you drive in and out of the park. Be extra careful if you have a large vehicle. There is an elevator to go almost all the way up to the main Chimney Rock portion. We did the hike up and rode the elevator down. The views from Pulpit Rock, Chimney Rock, the Opera Box, and Hickory Nut Falls were all beautiful. Overall it’s a great park to visit and do some moderate hiking. None of the trails that we were on were super strenuous but there are a lot of stairs in several places.

Jon H — Google review

Chimney Rock State Park was a wonderful experience. There were areas marked appropriately on trails and warning signs to prevent injury like ice patches. My husband and I walked 5 trails and enjoyed our visit. Areas that we would recommend some improvements on are that some road guard rails need repair, the gift shop would've been nice to be open even if it was a Sunday. There were enough visitors during our visit to justify having it open. Despite that the eatery was open, there were rangers directing traffic and at the gate. All staff were, pleasant and helpful. Even though there was a wait - about 30 minutes or so, the traffic kept moving along. I would recommend this visiting.

Maria G — Google review

So much to do here! I suggest going early in the morning to the top of chimney rock and then doing the sky trail before it gets too hot. Then take a break for lunch and don’t skip the waterfall trail. We loved this park! Our dogs couldn’t do all the stairs so we did the waterfall trail with them and dropped them off at the cabin. Your ticket allows you to leave the park and come back all day.

Ashley M — Google review

Beautiful place! We hiked for 4-5 hours and completed all trails here . We took the shuttle both ways to get all things done in time as we had only one day here . Well maintained park, clean restrooms, drinking water fountains , nice staffs , everything good .

Anu M — Google review

Breathtaking views of the lake lure and its surrounding parklands from the Chimney rock and Devil’s head. Worth visiting and hiking all trails. You can park at the ground parking near ticket plaza ($17 each) and take a shuttle, it’s few minutes ride. To reach at the top, one can use tunnel to elevator (26 stories in 32 secs)or stairs (approx 20 mins), through stairs you can see Vista view, Subway, Grotto, Pulpit Rock, Crevice Pass. It was amazing to visit Opera Box, Devil’s Head, Exclamation trail, Skyline trail, Hickory nut falls trail, waterfall and the four season trail. All trails are intermediate, not long but has stairs. This park has outdoor classrooms, kids friendly trails, sky lounge, shelters, benches, restrooms, nice parking, gift shop etc. Staff is great and friendly. Exploring this park was really fun and stunning.

Chanchal — Google review

This was a beautiful place with easy to follow directions and maps. Workers were all very friendly and knowledgeable. There are AMAZING views, and the gifts shops and cafe is great. There is elevator access to those who may struggle with stairs. A lot of railings to make the walks feel safe. The waterfall was very pretty and easy to get to. Seems to be a good place for families as well, I don’t have kids myself but heard of a lot of activities and programs for smaller ones. I would definitely recommend.

Lane H — Google review

So proud of myself to have survived this walk. Although, you can use the elevator to go up the chimney rock but since we also brought the puppies, we opt to climb the stairs from the bottom all the way up to the falls view. The view is breathtaking. This would prob look much more beautiful if all the trees turned green. Overall, we recommend this place.

1Skash — Google review

Me and husband decided that we were not going to take the elevator and just hike all the way up. It was a fun experience but next time we will take the elevator so we can see the rest of the park. Once you make it to where the flag pole is your not going to want to hike up the rest of the way if you didn't take the elevator. There is also a bat cave but did hear or see any bats. There is also two views of a water fall but we only did the bottom view. We look forward to going back one day.

Papa's A — Google review

Chimney Rock was so beautiful. The walking paths were clearly marked and wide enough in all the spots that I hiked. The park staff were all very kind and helpful. The animal exhibit was great for people of all ages, perfect for Boy Scouts or a Girl Scout Troop. I learned a lot! The bat cave was closed due to increased bat activity, but I would definitely come again to walk through the cave! Some of the outdoor animals near the animal discovery den were also removed so we didn’t get to see those. Otherwise a 10/10 experience!

Lily T — Google review

If you enjoy hiking and seeing the Mountain View’s then you will not want to miss chimney rock. There is plenty of parking , there is a fee to enter the park . There are waterfalls and also a elevator for anyone that might need assistance. There is a store at the top with plenty of seating, And restrooms that are very clean . It is a little strenuous on the legs walking up the stairs and there are a lot of stairs lol. But the views are well with the hike. There are also other trails you can walk after you finish the chimney. If you are in the area don’t miss this stop .

EDWARD Q — Google review

Beautiful park and very well-organized! There is an option to hike 28 floors up to the top which we did. If you choose to take the grotto road, then you will pass through a little cave which is fun! There is an elevator almost fully to the top of the Chimney rock and it is convinient if you travel with older folks or kids! Nice store with souvenirs too!!

Olga B — Google review

It’s been 20 years since I’ve stepped foot on Chimney Rock. The excitement and nostalgia returned immediately. What a beautiful planet we live on. My Fiance and son adored the park. We will definitely be returning again in the near future to do some more exploring. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area.

Damon W — Google review

Beautiful place!Make sure you arrive early so you can take plenty of pictures without many people because it does get crowded (9am)It has a souvenir store where they also have some snacks and ice cream.Tickets are around 17$ per adult.Pet friendly as well.Hiking to the waterfall is an easy one, even little kids can do that hike (of course with an adult supervision)

Laura N — Google review

Gorgeous. Was looking for a great Mountain Views for my parents who were visiting with minimal hiking / stairs as they have limited mobility. This was perfect. We took the elevator up, and then a short trip up some stairs, they were able to do it no problem. Definitely recommend to anyone I know, the views are stunning. I want to go back soon.

Jessie G — Google review

Nice drive in. The road is very narrow so you have to be careful. There are some parts that only fit one car so you have to let the other car pass. We visited in December 23. It was very windy and cold. There's a gift shop where you park the car. There you can buy snacks, drinks, extra shirts and jackets if you needs it. The hike to the waterfall was 0.7 miles, took about 35 minutes. The waterfall was nice. The hike back was harder since we have to go upstairs while carrying a 35 lbs toddler. There's a elevator in the parking lot that takes you to up the mountain, that was nice. Right when you get off the elevator, there is a another gift shop. There they sell more souvenirs and food. The view was beautiful. Very windy so you have to watch your step. There also a flight of stairs if you wants to hike to the peak of the mountain. I love the views. There are a few others trail you can hike. You can also take your pet on the trails. It definitely worth the trip here.

Trini D — Google review

Cost is not bad for the adventure and views you get to see. They do offer a military discount (just show ID at entrance). Lots of stairs, HIGHLY suggest taking water for everyone to drink on the way up and down. They do offer an elevator as well, however today it was down. There’s even a bar cave and waterfall. Take your time going up and enjoy the view for a bit once you reach the top. I suggest going early as it’s less crowded. They open at 8:30am, we arrived around 9:30am and it wasn’t bad. It is HARD but there are plenty of resting spots when walking up. We spent about 2 hours there and as we left the parking lot was pretty full and there were tons of people. Don’t forget to check out the souvenir shop (one at the bottom and one at the top). Bottom store had more to look at I feel like. A MIST VISIT IF YOUR IN THE AREA!

Constance J — Google review

The admission fee for adults is $15, while children aged 5 to 15 can enter for $8. There are several trails to explore, some of which can be quite strenuous, so it’s important to assess your physical condition before attempting them. The area around Chimney Rock offers a variety of scenic spots with stunning and relaxing views. It’s an ideal destination for a family outing. On busy days, such as weekends and holidays, visitors will be directed to park and then take a shuttle to the elevator, which leads to the gift shop. From there, it’s just a short walk up the stairs to the top of Chimney Rock. On less busy days, visitors can drive directly to the parking lot near the elevator entrance. However, please note that to fully appreciate the view of Chimney Rock, you’ll need to climb many more stairs along the trails. Another must-see attraction is Hickory Nut Falls, which can be reached via a 1.4-mile round-trip hike of intermediate difficulty.

E Y — Google review

This is really a nice place and I would say it’s a must visit place. Once you will enter from bridge. You need to drive up about 2 miles until the park entrance. There is a ticket per person and not per car. Entry fees per Adult is $17 and $8 for the kids 5-12 years. There is no ticket required for the kids below 5. You can go on the top by elevator or by stairs. You should try both. Elevator is in the middle of the rock, you need to go in the tunnel to get the elevator. Whereas the view from stairs is amazing.

Andy D — Google review

Beautiful views of the surrounding area once you get to the top.I suggest going when they open to get the full experience without all the people about. The hike to the lower water fall was an easy one at just about 1.5 miles out and back.Be prepared for steps if you journey around the chimney rock park, there are many many of them.

Jonathan ( — Google review

Great place and an iconic landmark, well worth a visit. The hikes are accessible to every level of trekking experience, the view from top of Chimney Rock is stunning.Hickory Nuts Forest Falls deserve a visit, especially when the sun starts to light the falls with some awesome light effects.Enjoyed it very much!

SIMONE S — Google review

An incredible place to visit! We went during Christmas break, there were a lot of people there, all ages from babies to elderly. The park was running a shuttle (busses) which is included in your admission (don't have to pay extra) to bring people up to the upper parking lot. From there you can choose to take an elevator to the top or take the stairs, which are a relatively easy climb. The stairs are almost a feature in and of themselves because the construction is so sturdy and well done, it's an impressive structure. You could spe d all day here hiking and climbing or you could make a quick trip to the top and be in and out of the park in an hour. There's a couple of cute gift shops with water and food if you are hungry. Also the entrance is conveniently located in downtown Lake Lure. Drive onto the state park's property and take the road up to the entrance parking lots. Views are spectacular.

Jennifer B — Google review

The views here are breathtaking. The trail to chimney rock is relatively steep the map estimates roughly 500 steps you will climb. Thankfully for those who can’t make it up but still want to enjoy the view, they have an elevator! Hiking to the waterfall was very easy, almost completely flat and well maintained. The waterfall was beautiful!Keep in mind some parts of trails can be closed to weather such as ice and wind. Overall I’d say it was worth the cost to visit at least once! (Kids will love it here!)

Polariss S — Google review

A MUST go if in the area!! Get there at opening to beat the crowds. We got there at 9am on a Thursday and were the 3rd ones up. It was so peaceful to have the area to ourselves. By 930 the crowds came. The elevator through the cave was nice. The bathrooms are all painted like the rock and looked nice. Everytime was helpful & friendly. The hike to the falls is a must & so beautiful!!

Mrs. H — Google review

Great hike. The elevator was not working so had a even longer hike. Whole lot of stairs and exercise but worth it for the views. Has a nice place near top for food and gift shop with a few tables

Jeff G — Google review

Fabulous place! Be sure to explore everything else along the trails! Hickory Nut Falls at over 400' is a must! The Skyline trail will take you to the top of the falls and the Hickory Nut trail to the middle, which is awesome after a rainfall! There is an elevator to take you to the rock if you don't want to make the wonderful hike. And a snack bar with ice cream, etc, at the top! The Chimney Rock Village is fun! Stop there for a meal and walk around.

JOSEPH G — Google review

Good place to bring the family for some outdoor adventures. We did a lot of hiking prior to go up to Chimney Rock, so the elevator was awesome for little tired legs. Parking can be rough, guides do the best they can. Be kind, be patient!

Dirty B — Google review

Great views, amazing waterfall and there is an elevator if needed to help get you to the top. ❤️ The hike isn't bad to the bottom of the waterfall, places to rest along the way and only a few rocky spots to navigate.

The park is beautiful. Wear comfortable clothes, good hiking shoes and bring plenty of water. We visited during Labor Day weekend and there were record numbers of visitors that day. The wait in line for the elevator to the top was almost an hour but you can also climb the stairs to the top. Definitely worth the visit.

Melanie N — Google review

We got there as soon as it opened and went straight to the top and happened to be the 1st ones at the top. We got to really enjoy it before it got super busy. I'm so glad we went when we did because it filled up pretty fast after that. Every view is gorgeous and every one that worked there was very friendly too. We will definitely be back!

Nikki A — Google review

I really loved this place. The drive up was nice. There is an elevator for people who don't want to take the stairs. There are A LOT of stairs but it's a good workout. The view from the flag was beautiful but you can keep going up and there is a pretty trail on top of the mountain that goes for a mile at least to a waterfall.

Christian H — Google review

Great park where you tailor your own adventure. Chimney Rock is handicapped accessible with an elevator to the top of Chimney Rock OR you can choose to hike from a lower parking lot and enjoy the woods. Something for everyone, and no one misses out on the views.

Amazing experience to see the beauty of the NC mountains! Make sure you go on a beautiful day! Nice easy elevator if need to get up quick!!

One of my most favorite parks to return to. Year membership was well worth it- and I don't even live in North or South Carolina. Each season, time of the day, and weather has its own experience. Family friendly, well taken care of and has breathtaking views.

Arboretum

Nature & Parks

The North Carolina Arboretum is a public garden located in the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Western North Carolina town of Asheville. The arboretum contains more than 60 acres of carefully cultivated gardens, including one of the most extensive bonsai collections in the United States. The gardens also showcase a variety of flora, including one of the most extensive ericaceous (acid soil-loving) plant collections in the United States.

So many different things to look at and the flowers are beautiful I went the second week of September and they all still had their colors. They have a very cute gift shop. There was a wedding going on while we were there which was very interesting to look at! Didn’t know they offered those kind of services there. But it is nice to know they do! Also, the cafe they have there was delicious. I believe I got the garden salad and it was so good. The ranch dressing was perfect. Staff is very friendly!

Emily M — Google review

Excellent arboretum full of beautifully curated displays, fun for the entire family regardless of season! Wonderful outdoor trails to meander peacefully. Huge train exhibit with live plants was really neat and inspiring. Bonsai garden was pretty even though it’s off season. Lots of cool educational nature exhibits inside too. Absolutely stunning welcome center, though the staff totally ignored me, but that was fine because I was able to locate what I needed by myself. Also, great educational program with dedicated area for future outdoor enthusiasts. Overall, a great experience minus the lack of customer service inside the welcome center. Would recommend.

Dawn G — Google review

One of the most beautiful and well kept gardens anywhere! Immaculate care of everything. Don't miss the Bonsai Garden or miniature train area with Thomas and amazing the Bonsai plants in railroad area. Amazing and varied walking trails. Great gift shop. Nearly every plant or tree has marker description. Just amazing for $20.00 car entry fee.

Chad S — Google review

We’ve been here twice and we loved it both times. So much to see! There are easy and difficult hikes. Everything is well marked. The staff is always so helpful. We love the bonsai exhibit. First Tuesday of the month is half price!

Deanna W — Google review

The Bloom with a View event offered beautiful displays of flowers and plants in time for spring. The trails were very easy as well. We spent about 4 to 5 hours here on a late weekday morning. Most of the visitors were older until a school bus came with about 30 kids, but they had a staff and a few other adults guiding them so they did not get in the way of the visitors.

Kei R — Google review

We were in Asheville for a long weekend and I was trying not to overdo the hiking since I was trying to recover from an injury. We decided to come here for the afternoon after a short hike in the morning.I had heard good things, but this place still surpassed my expectations! It's a pretty big place and there are even more traditional trails through the wooded area. It's $16 to park, but there is technically no entrance fee so you might be able to bike in for free.Unfortunately, we didn't plan ahead and the Bonsai exhibit was closed for the day (closes at 5 and everything else is open until 7 or 9 depending on the time of year). What we could see from the outside looked cool though. This is a great spot to spend a few hours exploring. It looks really cool in the winter with Christmas lights too from what I've seen online.

Jacqueline T — Google review

Such a beautiful and well maintained place. 16 bucks to park and the rest is free unless you decide to buy some $3 succulents. The bonsai exhibit was absolutely beautiful. A miniature redwood tree? One of the cutest things I've seen. The flowers are breathtaking as well. I highly recommend this place for its awe inspiring beauty.

Dylan R — Google review

The Arboretum is stunning! The gardens are so peaceful and beautiful to walk through. There were musicians playing music outside the bistro, which set such a fun mood. And when the heat gets to be too much, the visitor's center and gift shop have excellent air conditioning. There's also a water fountain with a water bottle filler. We appreciated that the Arboretum was dog and family friendly.

Jordon H — Google review

We loved this place! The gardens were beautifully designed by Frank Law Olmstead and have to be seen to be believed. Beautiful nature trails wind through the entire area and there are plenty of benches to take a break or just take in the scenery. This place is magical. We were fortunate to spot a mother bear, her two cubs and a copperhead on the trail. The trails are well marked and pretty easy to traverse. If I lived here I would be hiking at the Arboretum several days a week. The bistro served a great lunch - The Hungry Hiker Salad with a scoop of curried chicken salad was delicious! Don’t miss the bonsai exhibit!

Barry H — Google review

Loved the winter lights show! A massive amount of colored lights which was a perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. We got there early on a Thursday so it wasn’t too busy! As the crowd picked up it was still a very comfortable crowd level. Highly recommended!

Elsie S — Google review

We love the Arboretum for so many reasons! There are special exhibits, live music (wine), displays, trails, hiking, biking and more! You’re surrounded by nature & it’s beauty! And it’s dog friendly (just be mindful)!

Christine C — Google review

This is a really nice park. I personally love walking so for me this place has plenty of trails. There are a ton of decorations around here for Christmas so I highly recommend coming here after dark during the Christmas season. They also had a really nice gift shop at the building that's past all of the decorations.

Lev M — Google review

This place is a steal with only a sixteen dollar parking fee. Everything else was free to enter and explore. Give yourself a few hours to walk and enjoy the gardens and trails. The bonsai exhibit was very well laid out. There is plenty of photo opportunities and great mountain views throughout the park. I would recommend a visit here.

Mountain G — Google review

Amazing first visit here. We will definitely return. It was one of the nicest gardens we've ever visited. The design and layout were obviously well thought out and painstakingly built. The Bonsai exhibit was extraordinary! We could have easily spent a whole day here. We can't wait to come back.$20 per vehicle for parking, no cost for the Arboretum. You can use your parking stub as $20 towards an annual membership.

Marcus D — Google review

This is an absolute “must” if you visit Asheville. It was very easy to jump right in and engage in some nature walks. The navigation MIGHT lead you to a side road through a neighborhood. In which case, the road to the arboretum is two lights over. We luckily had a very nice lady who was an attendant in the campsite parking help us with directions. You pay $20 per car, and go straight up to the parking. The parking lot is right near the main education center which leads right onto a “red” nature trail that isn’t that advanced. You can do the nature hike, or start with the Bonsai and Quilt garden as pictures, as well as other curated natural exhibits, right next to the education center.*we brought some binoculars, which was fun because you will spot some red squirrels and other birds. It can be fun to try to find these critters as you navigate the hikes. We watched a squirrel build a nest from the comfort of a bench!*Gotta go to the Arboretum!

Austin D — Google review

Loved shooting Brittany and Jakes's summer wedding portraits at the NC Arboretum! The relaxed vibe here is perfect for my intimate, candid photography style. The couples were themselves, laughing and having fun - just like hanging out with friends. The light, the composition, everything so inspired me! It's a dream location for any photographer who loves to tell unique love stories. And the best part? Seeing the joy in their eyes when they saw their stunning, personal images. Five stars for sure!

Michael P — Google review

We had an incredible day here. The gardens are beautiful, and the bonsai collection outstanding. There was an exhibit about the manufacturing of perfume, related to flower cultivation that is a real treat for the senses. There are "sniffer" tubes set up, so that you can smell different perfume scent sources. A harp trio played in the garden, and the tranquility was so pleasant. What a place to unwind, and get in touch with your soul! Go there!

Ian M — Google review

Me and my Dad go here regularly. They do a wonderful job making this place bloom. I especially love the bonsai exhibit, which is up during the warmer months. There is a toy train that runs if you get there early in the day. Christmas they do lights and it's so wonderful 😍 ✨️ all year long this is a fun place to visit and I always look forward to it.

Sarah T — Google review

We love coming here. So many beautiful lights. Everyone will definitely love it. There's plenty of room to walk around. The little ones will love the trains. There's hot chocolate, soft drinks, food, gift shops, and restrooms. Lots to enjoy and see .

Crystal H — Google review

A family favorite, every spring, summer and fall! They always have a new exhibit experience, plus the gardens and miniature train town is fun for all ages to enjoy. Easy trails to walk or longer ones if you want. Plus a nice cafe or great areas to bring your own picnic.

Had a small elopement at the Heritage garden and it was honestly so professional and lovely! Thank you so much to the staff that allowed our dream event happen. Stephanie Carter was so accommodating and flexible. She was super attentive and engaged with everything. They even helped coordinate on the day of which I am honestly so grateful for. They also drove us around to take pictures around the venue and I'm so so grateful for them because walking around in a wedding dress is hard. They went above and beyond for us! The bridal waiting area has a full size mirror, a smaller close up mirror that lights up, a place to hang your clothes, and a lot of charger which was very much needed.Overall we were so happy with the service and the location!Thank you so much!

Chonk F — Google review

The best place to leisurely experience the nature of the North Carolina words while appreciating the lengths that gardening can go to. I love this place at every season. Entrance for a car full of people for a whole year was $50. It's my favorite place to unwind, enjoy the sun, and read a book.

Patricia C — Google review

As a member, this is one of our favorite places to walk our dog through the grounds and trails.I usually enjoy looking at all the flowers and large planter displays. This late March visit, I was surprised that not very much was in bloom yet, the Quilt Garden was empty and the Planters were not done. So, it was enjoyable to see what little signs of Spring had popped up.Looking forward to our next visit to see the Tulip beds in bloom!

Haute L — Google review

We didn’t have enough time to explore everything but it’s beautiful and well maintained. I am sure you can spend hrs if you want to walk all the trails and visit all exhibits. Entrance fees of 20 per vehicle covers parking and admission. We went there at end of March and lot of plants didn’t have leaves yet. Most of bonsai section was empty because of colder temperatures.

Deepak P — Google review

This is one of the most beautiful garden settings I’ve ever seen. There are many activities and educational programs that go on here. Before I start, let me tell you that dogs are welcome. However, they are not welcome inside of the Baker visitor center.there are many beautiful native trails that are surrounded by plants and trees. The trails are nicely cared for and just about anyone could hike them. There’s an amphitheater, A gift shop, dining and picnics. A waterway and a pond escape. There’s an education center and a bonsai exhibit.I could go on and on. If you love trailing, botanical things, trees, taking pictures and being outside you could spend the whole day here.Have a great adventure ♥️

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The North Carolina Arboretum, and it was a delightful experience. Nestled in the scenic beauty of Asheville, this arboretum offers a tranquil oasis for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. The gardens at the arboretum are meticulously maintained, showcasing a diverse range of native plants and flowers. Walking through the various themed gardens, from the peaceful Japanese garden to the vibrant Southern Appalachian garden, was a feast for the senses. Each garden section offers something unique, from colorful blooms to serene water features.

The North Carolina Arboretum was a wonderful stop during our visit to North Carolina. We went in late October, and the foliage was midway through its transformation. I observed lovely flowers and bonsai trees that were incredibly well-maintained and cared for. I would highly recommend this destination to anyone passing through. It was a wonderful and incredible facility.

Deysi V — Google review

You have to pay for parking, but entry to the NC Arboretum itself is free. I didn't mind the parking fee at all, because I'm sure it goes toward caring for the grounds and the people who work there. I took my mom through here and we both enjoyed it. I wheeled Mom around in her wheelchair very easily. There were so many different types of flowers, shrubs, and trees. There's also a small train track and town display. We could've spent so much more time just taking in all of the beauty, but it began to sprinkle, so we went inside to grab gifts and we were on our way. We took lots of photos and will have fun looking back on the memories. The bonsai tree displays had my imagination running wild! The staff were all very kind, other guests were polite, and everything was clean and well cared for. This is a must see, if you're in the area. We had a blast!!

The Biltmore Inn is a beautiful, historic hotel located outside of Asheville in South Asheville. It has a wide variety of rooms and suites to choose from, as well as several great restaurants and lounges within the property. The atmosphere is romantic and inviting, perfect for any special occasion.

I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did! We took the self guided tour with listening devices and were able to enjoy this with no rush.So beautiful! There were multiple families touring at the same time and the kids did well although I don't think it's somewhere I would've taken my own kids.We enjoyed the drive through the estate to the wine tasting. John was great at guiding us through each option.Shopping was very pleasant and Carl helped us decide on our favorites as well as the best way to save to get the most bang for our buck. The gift shops were great too! We each purchased an ornament for a souvenir.

My husband and I decided on a whim, to pack a bag and head to The Biltmore House. Neither of us had been, and we were bored. We stayed at The Biltmore Inn. From the moment we arrived... to the moment we left, everything was amazing. We will absolutely be back when we can stay longer than a night. I absolutely love the view from the deluxe terrace rooms. So beautiful and dreamy. And dinner at the on-site restaurant downstairs was superb.

We went there for our honeymoon for a week. The valet were excellent and very nice. The front desk, not so much. We were not fans of the front desk. Every person we encountered working there while on our stay was snobby and rude. The rooms are pretty basic to me. I live about 30 minutes from the West Baden in Indiana and I was just expecting more from the Inn, I suppose. I would rate the Inn a 3/5 on service and friendliness compared to the West Baden. The view is a 10/10. That is perfect and I'm assuming that's why you pay so much to stay there. Also the "Library" lounge is not a library. It's the "common area" essentially. The drinks are outrageous. We paid $63 for two drinks. Bloody Mary's are $20.. for one shot of vodka lol. Those are like $5 where I live. It was a jump scare. Don't get food delivered to your room either. We wanted a quick lunch while we were getting ready one day. So we ordered one sandwich to split and a Tito's and cranberry... $65 dollars. It's just extortion really. The food was good but not worth $45.If we come back to Asheville, we would probably stay in a cabin & getting a day pass or at the hotel on the Biltmore. The house tour, the kayaking, the trails, the E-Bikes were all really fun. We just didn't like the Inn and our experience. Also, eat at the Bistro and Cedric's! Both very good and very friendly service and staff. Also we were told the pool was heated and would be open on our stay, it wasn't. But the hotels was. So all around, I would just stay at the hotel. It's essentially the same thing but friendlier.

Taylor F — Google review

The inn was very welcoming. Complimentary wine every day in the lobby was a nice touch. The turn-down service was one of the best of all my hotel stays! They even tied up the phone charging plugs with a silky red ribbon that has the Vanderbilt insignia. One major disappointment is the room felt damp at all times!

Ashley B — Google review

Love staying here. From the rooms, the food and drinks, the absolute best.

Charity G — Google review

We have had passes to Biltmore for years. Our daughter got married there. We're so grateful for one of N.C.'s greatest treasures. Sometimes, though, their reach for profit exceeds their mission and value proposition. We had not eaten at Biltmore Inn for perhaps a year or so. So we pulled up to Inn to valet park (raining hard). The valet informed us we would have a $20 parking fee for this lunch! Didn't make me very happy. This was NEW. Then we went downstairs for lunch and they informed us that they had transformed downstairs dining room into the "tea room" for afternoon tea and that upstairs in the library where high tea had been held, they were serving lunch. So we go back upstairs and were seated after long wait. They brought menu..... it was not lunch ... it was snacks and appetizers to be taken with drinks! Ugh! So at the Biltmore Inn, now, one cannot have a lunch!!!!! The Inn guests have to leave the hotel if they want to take lunch. The demand for (and profitability of) afternoon tea was large enough to move it downstairs to more capacity and lunch was eliminated, but we were inaccurately guided to library for snacks and appetizers ...... at one time there they even served hamburgers etc. NOT NOW.I expect more from the Biltmore Inn.

Roger J — Google review

Staying at Builtmore Inn comes with the great perk of shuttle service on the estate.Food and service as expected for for its ratings.

Corey L — Google review

Our experience at the Inn was nearly perfect from beginning to end.We stayed in the Inn @ Room 259. I was disappointed that we didn’t have a mountain view, but the room was perfect, and we did have a terrace that offered substantial privacy when sitting outside. [I assumed a terrace would come with a mountain view, and I was wrong.]The valet & bellhop were outstanding, as was the front desk, the concierge, and all of the wait staff. We were treated with the utmost respect and never got bad vibes. We took the early morning tour of the Biltmore Mansion and it is HIGHLY recommended. We ate one night @ the Inn and the experience was fantastic! The service was perfect and the meal was delicious. We started with the crab cake, and both ordered filets, then finished with the creme brulee…………like seriously - how can you complain? The $30 +/- co*cktails were pricey, but then you take in the priceless views and suddenly the drinks seemed like a fair value!CONS:The website is very confusing. The difference between the Hotel, the Inn, & the Home is not clear at all, and the room descriptions could use some work.I ordered the embroidered robe for my wife, and it was probably 4 sizes too big. I contacted guest services and they said they only offer one size fits all. It was really only meant to be a keepsake, but perhaps one of my boys will grow up to be a 2x or 3x!Great job Biltmore – we have told several friends how much we enjoyed our stay and we are proud to have been your guests.

Reed S — Google review

This is much more than a place to stay while visiting Biltmore: it's an experience in and of itself. We stayed here for two nights while celebrating our anniversary last week. Everything was pleasantly over-the-top - just as a stay at the Biltmore must have been. The property, the location, the staff, the accommodations, the view, the shopping, the food. All exceeded our expectations. Definitely worth the stay.

Phil M — Google review

We spent $450 for tickets, gas and food for 1 day - 2 people. NOT worth the money; gardens and art exhibit were a big disappointment. When we purchased the tickets they told us the spring flowers would be planted, dogwoods and wisteria would be in bloom. Minimal annuals were planted, in fact they were just in the process of digging up dead tulips, so that is what we paid to see. We had to seek out the dogwoods and didn't see 1 wisteria in bloom. Art exhibit was a joke. A projection of renaissance art on the walls, no actual prints to view.

The River Arts District is a 22-property commercial and vintage district located close to the French Broad River in Downtown Asheville. It encompasses various craftsman studios as well as galleries open to the public, making it an incredible place to buy unique souvenirs from your time in the city.

Awesome place to walk around and go in different artists' studios and see what they have to offer. So if you're looking for art of all kinds and in different mediums, this is the place to start. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Most artists, if not busy, will come over and explain some pieces and whatnot, very pleasant and informative. We wound up getting a few pieces from different artists, nice additions for our house. Prices vary, so there's something for everyone. Even if you're not in the market to buy, definitely go and check out what's all there, it's like going to museum of fine art.

Loving this River Art District in Asheville! 😍. A hub of 300+ artists collective to meet, chat with and appreciate is such a unique experience!HOWEVER, the key locations to visit are scattered and without planning ahead, I accidentally walked 30,000+ steps in 4 hours! 😥 very tired indeed! So, NOTE for future visits:START the day with ULTRA Coffeebar (great coffee and breakfast),THEN park at WEDGE brewing company to visit the studios in its building (also because they open earlier),THEN drive to lunch at 12 BONES (best BBQ in town), visit the street arts, studios, Marquee and have a wine tasting at Plēb Urben Winery nearby before youMOVE to the other side of the railway - the studios on Depot st. near the Magnetic Theatre and,END the day with a meal at Vivian (make sure to reserve a table in advance for this small and special dinner place)!AND that would be a perfect day for River Art District! 👌

Museums

The Lexington Glassworks is a studio in downtown Ashevilles where glass-blowers create elaborate pieces from molten glass. It's open six days a week, and has demonstrations of the process every day. The gallery features intricately designed pieces, and there's also a back bar with local craft beers on tap. If you're interested in learning more about glass-blowing, or want to see some amazing works of art in action, this is definitely the place to go.

Loved this place! The lady that helped us was very nice and informative. Although they did not have a glassblowing session that day, they were still blowing glass and we could watch. Beautiful pieces. Well worth the visit.

Donna C — Google review

Great 30-minute stop for those walking around Asheville. The glassmakers, Geoff and Billy, explain their work process to those watching and even took the time to answer several questions I had. It was a nice time strolling around the shop while they made something in front of you

Brighten ( — Google review

I CANNOT give anything less than 5 stars. Lexington Glassworks is conveniently located near Downtown Asheville, with easy access to parking. Upon arrival, my children and I were able to see several glass works being cut and shaped in front of our eyes, with detailed explanations from the friendly employees. The variety of colors and shapes of the glass works is astounding -- it must be seen to be believed!

This is one of my favorite places to go when I visit Asheville. We bought some pendant lights here a few years ago when we remodeled kitchen, and they're just stunning.

Barbara I — Google review

We purchased two hand blown pendants (9" round taper) to install above our kitchen island. They are absolutely beautiful - the quality and uniqueness is amazing (see attached photos for the pendants as installed and a close-up). Also, the hardware included (ceiling mount, wire sheath, and pendant mount) were easy to install and match the pendants really well. The overall process took a while (~12 weeks) - so you'll need to plan accordingly, but it was definitely worth the wait. The team at Lexington Glassworks was great to work with in the design and build of the pendants. We self-installed, which was pretty simple to complete if you want to go that route. We highly recommend Lexington Glassworks for this type of work - we were very pleased with the whole process and end products, thanks team at Lexington!

Was a fun experience to watch the glass-blowing process. The employees explained each step as they worked. Their pieces are a little pricey but beautiful.

My wife and I were visiting friends and they brought us here to look around. We absolutely loved it! It was so cool to be able to see the glass blowers in action whilst also walking around looking at the pieces they've already made. It truly is a skill that is just mind-blowing. Wonderful selection of handmade glass work and being able to watch the whole process of the pieces being just adds to the experience.

Brent S — Google review

Always a must stop whenever visiting the area! Enjoy the glass blowing demo every time.

Five stars for the atmosphere, five stars for the glass blowing “show”. The glass blowers are friendly and talk through the process - they’re busy working on projects, so a cool opportunity to see how it’s done. The only caveat really is the high prices on the amazing pieces they have for sale.

Charles R — Google review

It's cool to watch them make glass. They explain things while working and they also have a near FAQ sheet. The pieces for sale are beautiful.

While exploring, we stumbled upon this shop. Their glass art is delightful, and best part (for us) was watching them make a piece. The process is entraining to watch.

It was very nice to see how this beautiful artwork is made. The staff was friendly and informative. It was a nice way to pass the time.

This is a must visit gallery on your next trip to Asheville. This team takes the art of glass making to a new level of sophistication. Each piece is exquisite and worthy of the same investment you would make in any piece of fine art. The staff is very friendly and patient with questions. Watching the glass makers at work makes one truly appreciate the time, commitment and artistry behind each piece.

Lisa M — Google review

It was so cool to watch them create the glass sculpture. Sadly we didn't get to see the end product, but based on what is on display in the gallery I'd say it'll be amazing.

Do not miss the opportunity to watch exquisite artistic glass being made! It is fascinating and beautiful. We enjoyed browsing through the shop also.

The Basilica of Saint Lawrence is an iconic and gorgeous Catholic church in downtown Asheville, NC. It was designed by Spanish architect Rafael Guastavino and features stunning stained glass windows. The basilica offers free guided and self-guided tours, but you don't have to take one if you just want to see the architecture from the 20th century.

Beautiful Architecture can be seen in Basilica of St Lawrence. It was completed in 1909. The Basilica of St. Lawrence is designed by Rafael Gustavino and Richard Sharpe Smith, renowned architects on the Biltmore House. Their updated mass time schedules and visiting hours are available in their website. You can also book a tour with a guide on their website. Make sure to book it atleast a week in advance to get confirmation or approval. Worth to visit!

You must come and visit on Sunday for the 9 AM mass and be sure to stay late to receive the amazing free tour afterwards! It was such a joy and funny to hear our hosts speak about the wonderful things of this church and help us to more appreciate the stained glass, sculptures and architecture. The architect love this place so much he is buried here! We had a wonderful mass with Latin spliced in. The congregation was welcoming. We felt good about giving to this church which is in dire need of repair. Peace, Joshua

I came to the Basilica on Mother's Day to celebrate a memorial mass for my friend. Her father had the mass in her memory since it was the 5th anniversary of her passing. She passed away on Mother's Day. She was a wonderful person and is truly missed by all of us who knew her. ❤I absolutely love this church even though it is not my parish. I think anybody who visits Asheville should come and check out the history and relish in the beauty of its statues and stained glass windows.

If you love old buildings with so much history and impressive architecture, this church is a must-visit. Their front door is under kind of construction/repair so the entrance to the church is off to the side. It's a straightforward self-guided tour. It's free to enter but there's a donation box by the entrance.

Maricris G — Google review

Beautiful church and the guy at the door was very welcoming. You do need to pay attention to the visiting hours. Self guided tour and the informational sheet was full of helpful history and pointed out awesome details.

The architecture on display at the Basilica is captivating. Such a remarkable display of mankind’s ingenuity.

My husband and I were very excited to go to mass here on our vacation. We learned about it’s history on some of the walking tours we went on. The architecture is unique and amazing so be sure to learn about it! We wish we could have stayed for the free tour after mass! Mass was beautiful and everyone was very friendly. There is a parking lot for people going to mass but we went to a parking deck nearby since we had dinner reservations right after.

Beautiful and humbling church. Felt at peace inside and appreciated the care that has gone into caring for this sanctuary. Please leave a cash gift for your entrance before leaving.

While honeymooning in nearby Maggie Valley, we happened upon the Basilica of St Lawrence. This stood out to us as an architectural oddity in the middle of a modern city, and decided to stop in. The outside betrayed the beauty of the inside where frescoes, tapestries and statuaries reign supreme. An absolute beauty. This structure with its fascinating details in design, is included on my list of Wonders of the World. Truly amazing ❤️

Amazing church and the pastor has a heart of gold. The basilica is beautiful. Sunday tours after mass. Tour guide is a local volunteer who is incredible. One of americas great architects Raphael Guastavino built the church. Its magnificent to behold. And whats best is Jesus is present here. The sacrament of communion is beautifully reverant. And this parish has a true leader shephard! He dedicates all his time to everyone who enters the doors. He has a true heart for Jesus and you can tell on first glance. He answers questions anyone has about the faith during coffee hour.

Full house runs into the street.Easter morning downtown Asheville. The church filled up fast as more people arrived. Happy Easter

Gloriously beautiful basilica! As a visitor, I felt welcomed by the parish. Parking was not hard at all. The mass was celebrated with the deacon, priest, and local seminarians. The stained glass and sculptures were a work of art. The mass was enhanced by amazing music from the choir. I highly recommend for your Sunday worship.

I really don't like having to put up such a low star rating for a place of worship. Unfortunately, for this particular Church, I'm afraid I have to.And my reason for doing so is quite a simple one: I had been to this church with a fellow homeless man ♂️, who had been staying in the "starvation army" 🪖 shelter of apathy with me, during this weekend. It was a Sunday morning, and pretty cold when we came into this church.I had initially wanted to have a day of worship at a different variety of church, not far from this one. I had written a review of the other Church in question during the same day I was trying to determine their hours of operation. But, after I had left this basilica to find out if the other church had actually opened its doors yet, the young man I was traveling with caught up to me after a while of me waiting at the other church. What he told me came as an absolute shock of disgust at all the clergy members of this basilica... Apparently, during my absence, one of their female staff members complained about his carrying bags to him. And even though she offered him a chance to store them away in a side room, he declined on the grounds which he felt directly disrespected by the person who confronted him over his baggage. If this is how staff and clergy members of a Catholic basilica are going to treat regular citizens who only wish to head over to a church for a worship service, then I highly doubt I'll be setting foot into any church at any point in time within the near future of my life!

Beautiful and amazing structure build in the old day, see visiting hours in a picture

What a breathtaking Basilica. It's known to have one of the largest free-standing domes in North America. The greeter was especially kind and hands out brochures for those who are visiting. The dome itself is massive, and there are many sculptures, art pieces, and stained glass windows to enjoy. If you can, go for a service so you can get the full experience.

I was blessed (tho I didn't know at the time) to visit your Church a few years back, as a protestant. I am so deeply, truly and incredibly sorry for the things I said and the way I felt when I was there. I could never repay you for my sins but I can tell you, my Confirmation is tomorrow night at the Easter Vigil. What a glorious redemption!! I pray I can visit you again some day, with my new heart and eyes set aright.

Shanni A — Google review

Beautiful church with some interesting history. My rating is due to expecting just a quick stop. If we weren't staying walking distance away and had planned to stay longer, I probably would have been disappointed. As others have pointed out, the posted hours were not consistent with the actual time. We wanted to see the church as tourists, so we came during hours posted for visiting / touring. But as we walked in we were informed mass was starting in 30 minutes. We wanted to be respectful so we didn't walk around. The staff were very friendly and polite and I'm glad we got the chance to see the inside. I completely respect the church wanting to be less tourist focused and more exclusively a place of worship, but feel the hours and information should reflect that.
